Took my Suv in for 10,000 mile service. On the way home something caught my eye. Overhead in front of me on the visor, crawled out the biggest roach I have ever seen. I've lived in Florida close to 50 years and I've seen some big roaches. Problem is the bugger flew across to the passenger seat and disappeared.

How can I get find and kill the bastard. Not using any sprays due to leather and lingering smells. Any ideas besides 24 hr. guard with an old shoe.

Piece of cheese in a sticky trap maybe?
Caught a lot of random bugs when I had a mouse in my shed.

Florida Palmetto bugs are the bane of my existence!

My wife and I have a ‘arrangement’ - I capture lizards and she dispatches Palmetto Bugs!! We both have irrational fears that compliment each other.

The only thing I can suggest is placing some Roach Motels around the vehicle… hopefully get rid of it/them before they reproduce.

That might be like drilling a hole in a boat to let out the water!

Mr V-Tail is an expert based on his experience with roaches. He might be able to give you a newer updated piece of advice. No charge, he's a generous man.

This is what I thought of too. I've heard of that happening more than once after a car was left for service.

Take to the car wash and use the vacuum cleaners, maybe you'll get lucky and suck it up from underneath the seat. I think rolling the windows up would work, that's how I usually kill bugs that find their way into my car. Not sure if it would work on a roach but it works on flies. Good luck finding it and getting rid of it, seeing a large cockroach in my car would freak me out.

Every living thing needs water. Clean the interior, seal it up, leave it in the sun. The beastie either dies, or leaves.
