Thanks for the chance at a very nice knife!!

Here's a shot of the kids at the AOPA fly-in at Gulf Shores this past Fall. Flying in an open cockpit biplane is rare these days.

Here is one of my daughter shooting the 100 yard steel off the front porch with a 10/22.

There was one occasion during which I had to visit my company's old HQ location in Pueblo, CO. When I got there and looked around a little I realized the Memorial airport was at the end of the road, and nearby was the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum . I was dying to go inside, but I just didn't have time. I had to settle for checking out their displays outside by the road. Awesome stuff.

Re: rimfire rifles, I've had a 10/22 for years and it's by far my favorite rifle to shoot.

Thanks for the chance to participate in such a nice Karma.

Please count me in for a chance... Closest I've come to interaction with an aircraft is sitting in the copilot's seat for a few minutes, but I do enjoy .22 rim fire.

That knife looks great and would come in real handy for hunting.

My aviation related link may be useful for those, like me, who have successfully overcome anorexia. If you're a big guy (wide, not tall), Southwest Airlines offers an unbelievable option. Almost too good to be true

In a nut shell, if you're wide, you can get a FREE SECOND SEAT. There are two options - ask at the gate (or ticket counter). If they have an extra seat you'll probably get it. If you don't want to take a chance, when you buy your initial ticket you also buy a 2nd ticket - SW will refund the cost of the second ticket after the flight. Your get the refund even if the flight is overbooked. Click the link - it's all explained in the FAQ

I learned about this in early January and have now done 4 round trips. I use the buy extra ticket now then get refund option - I don't want to take a chance once I get to the airport. Beside the short time I'm out some cash, the only downside is the check in process. I can check in on line but must go to the ticket counter at the airport for boarding pass (and the pass that gives you the extra seat).

Tips: If you buy the tickets online and follow the process explained on line, things go very smoothly when you get to the ticket counter.

If you book by calling SW or through a travel agent, it seems ticket counter agents always have trouble figuring out how things were entered into the system. (I have to use the firm's travel agent for business flights. I have to call SW if I book using miles.) If you've booked via travel agent or by calling SW, just allow about 20 minutes once you get to the agent at the ticket counter. When you're at the ticket counter, be proactive and ask for preboard (which SW suggests on their website). (One person can preboard with you.)

There are one or two stories where the ticket counter agent or their manager determined the passenger was not wide enough to qualify for the benefit. So this does get monitored when you check in. A couple people complained - but the bottom line is this process gives you a free extra seat. No other airline offers a free extra seat.

Awesome Karma,
Thanks!

This picture is of my daughter at age 5, at the Pensacola air museum. She would later go to USNA and then on to flight school. While she didn't become a pilot, she did meet her future husband at flight school.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
