For pics I use Postimage. It's just so user friendly.

For avatars, either Imgur or...someone help me. Who's the member who created his own hosting site just for sigforum? I'll see if I can find the thread.

I've been using Imgur for over a year now for all image hosting. It's intuitive to use and has been very satisfactory.

Well, I'm convinced. Imgur it is.

I did not include creslin's image server since it was not known to exist at the time of my post.

For avatar hosting, Sigmonkey and Woodman are offering free avatar hosting: https://sigforum.com/eve/forums...0601935/m/7420055624 I did not mention them in my post as I did not want to burden them since there are other options.

I have been looking for guidance on what to do with this information about free 3rd party hosts. I mentioned a sticky, but that does not seem like the best idea since I am not necessarily offering support on how to use the known free 3rd party image hosting sites. (creslin is offering support.)

It seems like the best thing to do is to edit and amend my post, repost it in The Lounge, and then bump it up occasionally until Photo Bucket becomes history.

Since you're doing a karma and need a image host now, http://postimages.org is the simplest site to use. Just upload an image and then afterwards use the 2nd offering of "Direct link" for a URL that can be used with SIG forum's Image URL tags.

No registration is required.
