Many new car stereos have this. Our 2107 Accord has a 60 second or so buffer to it and you can pause a song for awhile and once you change a station it goes back live. Our 2022 Suburban has the buffer AND when you cycle through channels it always starts at the begining of the song AND you can replay a song or two. You can do this a couple of times cycling through stations before it loses its buffer and plays live only until it catches up again.

I think in some big cities they may have some sort of terrestrial repeater to get around all of the buildings, parking garages, bridges, etc.

I have a Sony Walkman I keep in my truck.

I'm not paying yet another subscription for something.

We had a 6 month free subscription with our new car to Sirius and some kind of data for moving map and stuff. It was cool, and we did like the Sirius service. But there is no way I am paying subscriptions to my car. It really pisses me off actually to have to pay to get features built in like the map.

I let the trial periods expire and never bothered to get a subscription.

Via my iphone I get all the maps and entertainment I want at no extra cost.

I pay $7 per month. It’s not that hard to say hello to the rep and say that you need the discount. They look up your account, see the account age, and give it to you.

Try spending 30-45 minutes each time arguing with someone about a vehicle you do not and never have owned only to have them deactivate YOUR radio and not the one in the mystery vehicle that you clearly told them is not yours.

Since 2008 I've played the cancel if I don't get $5 month rate. Always works - after fees it's about $6 month. This year they went to $6 month plus fees. I told them no - $5 or cancel. They cancelled.

A week later I got a snail mail letter wanting me back at $5 month. I don't travel enough that I even notice it's gone so I have yet to renew.

Intrigued at first, by about 2009 I'd had my fill with Sirius.

It took a couple years to convince them No means NO.

I just renewed both my wife's and my vehicle. Pleasant experience this year, I called told the lady I wanted to renegotiate my two vehicles and that I expected a generous discount. She quoted me a price of $86.21 for each vehicle for 12 months. Same as last year, I paid for the full year, same as always. No fuss, no muss!

Had it when they partnered with XM. I bought a portable radio I could use while working as a night baker. Great for a year, then they told me my 450 dollar radio was being phased out, and I would have to buy a new one. For 550 bucks. I cancelled the service. Most recently, I had their limited time offer crap with a new truck. At the end of the term I cancelled. They tried their hustle three times, and I hung up and called Chase and told them that I no longer had Sirius, and to not pay them ever again. They still call to try to get me to come back. If they would only stick to 6 or 7 bucks a month-but that's just not good enough.

I got 3 free months of Sirius from my Mechanic last year. I activated it but didn’t use it. The 3 months expired and they called me several times to secure a paying subscription. I ignored the calls until I was feeling froggy and answered in Slovak and proceeded to answer the caller’s questions with increasingly annoyed Slovak. The caller stomached maybe 4 replies then gave up and I never heard from them again. Cool

I would probably dump Sirius except for the news and comedy stations. I listen to the music stations too but could get music on Spotify but would miss the lack of news and comedy.

I just played their renewal game agin last month. Tired of it and looking for a suitable option.
