I am pretty confused on all this. https://www.cnn.com/politics/l...dff4f6750f8b7afd4113 The House is voting now on the infrastructure bill after hours of internal delaying and debating among Democrats. This bill has already passed the Senate, and if passed, would head to President Biden’s desk. How we got here: Going into Friday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it was her intention to vote on final passage of the infrastructure bill and the social spending bill known as Build Back Better. But, Friday morning it was clear that a group of House moderates were not ready to support the final passage of Build Back Better for a variety of reasons. To accommodate that group, after hours of inaction, Pelosi decided to schedule a final vote on the infrastructure bill, and stop short of final passage of the Build Back Better bill, by only voting on the rule governing debate, hoping that would be enough to unify Democrats. That plan however immediately collided with a significant number of progressives, who have consistently called for both the infrastructure and Build Back Better bills to move together. Progressives stalled floor action for hours as they deliberated how to move forward. Then, moments before the final vote, a group of key moderate holdouts released a statement vowing to vote for the social spending package “in its current form other than technical changes, as expeditiously as we receive fiscal information from the Congressional Budget Office-but in no event later than the week of November 15.” Shortly after this commitment from moderates, Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal released a statement saying that the Progressive Caucus reached a deal with fellow Democrats to vote on the infrastructure bill tonight, abandoning a key tenant of their position, which was to only vote for the infrastructure bill when the social spending bill also would receive a final vote. Moments before the House began voting on the infrastructure bill, Jayapal wrote on behalf of her caucus that progressives would move forward with the infrastructure vote because they had accepted the commitment from moderates that the social spending bill would get a vote “no later than the week of November 15.” But in her statement, Jayapal was sure not to say that everyone in her caucus would be joining onto this position. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I would like to have both bills fail. We need to make these DEMs pay in the Nov 2022 election

And the "infrastructure bill" that already passed the Senate passes the House with just enough RINO's voting for it. They just can't hold the line and refuse to pass anything this idiotic administration wants. The Democrats were self destructing with infighting and all these 10 or so RINO's had to do was vote NO. But they couldn't. Snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory once again.

Probably best case for us, I don't think that kinda pressure is likely to make the impact on him that they're hoping. They'll 100% pass something though. Look at the pressure for a W today, after their VA ass whipping.

^^^ The RINOs need to lose. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Looks like they are going to pass a 1.2 trillion dollar “infrastructure” bill that looks to only have about 25% of actual infrastructure, all the rest is social program bullshit. And these assholes just snuck in a tax cut for the wealthy in high-tax blue states; it eliminates the Trump-era $10,000 SALT (State and local tax) deduction limit and puts it back to $72,500 ![]()

From what I understand is there are two big spending bills kicking around. The infrastructure bill, and the Build Back Better bill. The Democrats are trying like hell not to use the reconciliation process to pass both bills. My prediction is both will pass with a handful of Republicans voting in favor. They always find a couple of stooges so they can run to the nearest mic and shout bipartisan bill you can't blame us. I have a theory about that, but it probably won't be popular here. Both will pass without using the reconciliation process. What keeps me up at night is what do they have waiting in the wings that they are planning to use the reconciliation process on? I think that will be the Green New Deal. They have one more year. And they know it. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

The infrastructure bill just passed tonight: 1.2T $ Biden’s “Build Back Better” bullshit is dead as far as I can tell, I’m not sure this will ever pass now. They are supposedly going to revisit that later this year but I don’t think it’s happening.

A cabal of retarded RINO's in the senate handed the Urine Soaked Relic a big win tonight thanks to their stupidity and cowardice with the passing of a trillion dollar plus 'infrastructure' bill that's really just a social programs wet dream payout. My bet, this same group in the senate and a small group in the house will cave once the BBB bill reaches a trillion dollars and give the Dem's yet another 'bipartisan' win. It just goes to prove once again, we have no allies in Washington, just total enemies. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. This bill was always going to pass. One of the reasons I believe repubs gave this "bipartisan" win was to keep Manchin from voting on the BBB bill. He now has the "bipartisan" cover he always talks about. The "Build Back Better" (or Biden-Bernie Budget) bill will have to be passed through reconciliation and they will need all 50 votes to do it. The left's plan for the BBB has always been reconciliation as they knew they could never beat the filibuster otherwise. If and when the house sends the BBB to the senate they are going to change it. There are provisions in it some senators are a hard no on. So once it changes it will go back to the house. The changes will piss off the progressives and around and around we go. Remember the left also has a hard deadline of 3 December to raise the debt limit which they will also have to do by reconciliation. And if McConnel sticks to his word they will have to do it alone. That process will eat up at least two weeks, if not more. With the holidays this month they will have to start soon to avoid default. Unless something changes I don't see the BBB going anywhere this year, and next year is getting awfully close to the mid-term elections.

And, the Squad voted no. I know for a whole host of different reasons but still. Pelosi isn't going to bring this up for a vote if she's not certain she has the votes, and she went to the Republicans for those votes and got them. Gutless traitors is a bit strong. All but two or three of these members are from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. All blue. Their votes were CYA, and we need to realize that the modern post Reagan Republican Party loves to spend money too. https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/05...voted-yes/index.htmlThis message has been edited. We have an incompetent administration that says inflation is good because it means more people are working and spending. Never once do they mention how inflation destroys the savings of the elderly who have elected fixed income assets to avoid market losses. It destroys everyone's buying power because private industry does not give cost of living adjustments (but all government workers get them). It creates uncertainty and can get out of control due to psychology. The late 70's were a mess. Ronald Regan and Paul Volcker had the courage and strength to deliberately raise interest rates and cause a recession (yes, cause) to get inflation under control. No one today has the guys to do that in any party. People and banks are so dependent on low interest debt the regulators won't do what is needed. So just spend, spend, spend...

GOP betrays its base -- again! 13 GOP members help pass Biden's porky $1.2 trillion 'infrastructure' By Rajan Laad Yesterday, thirteen House Republicans bailed out Joe Biden's and Nancy Pelosi’s agenda by voting passing their $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure’ bill. This list of defectors includes Reps. John Katko (R-NY), Don Bacon (R-NE), Jefferson Van Drew (D-NJ), Fred Upton (R-MI), Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), Don Young (R-AK), Tom Reed (R-NY), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Andrew Garbarino (R-NY), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) who voted 'yes' on the bill. The bill advances the following items promoted by woke and far-left:
The Democrats know they can count certain Republicans to enable them to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. https://www.americanthinker.co..._infrastructure.html "Some things are apparent.
