Missouri folks: Please Vote NO on Amendment 6

This is flying under the radar, but it would be terrible for Missouri.

Please get out and vote by Nov. 3rd. This is a crucial election with 2 keys amendments:

SUPPORT Amendment 3: return Missouri to a pro-life state, ban sex change operations and drugs for children, and restore the health and safety standards for "reproductive healthcare."

OPPOSE Amendment 6: flips Missouri from a Representative Republic to a Direct Democracy - not what the founders established; locks in unintended consequences of poorly written laws - legislature cannot improve, remind or modify citizen-initiated laws or amendments unless 80% of House and Senate agree to bring the issue to a vote of the people.

ADDITION: Amendment 6 is not well known or understood. Below is a 6-minute educational video explaining Amendment 6. Please share the video link with everyone you know to stop this evil from penetrating our state.

6-minute educational video on Amendment 6:

Please share the voter guide and video with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers, and encourage everyone to get out and vote!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I'm sick and tired of these CIs. We get them here all the time and more often than not, the ballot question is so poorly written that when you think you are voting against something you are actually voting for it. Even reasonably intelligent people with good reading comprehension get turned around.

We have legislatures for a reason. This is THEIR job.

Thanks, that video was very helpful, chellim 1.

As Gustofer noted, I've been slogging through much obtuse ballot language in advance of this election and any plainspeak to clarify the true meaning and outcomes is greatly appreciated.

This will also open the door to more gun control.
Imagine what gun laws can be enacted if all they need is a bare majority, mostly from St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Kansas City, and maybe the college libs in Columbia.
As the video shows, all they need is 8 counties... and the legislature can't do a thing about it.

Chellim1, this is why I absolutely go nuts when I hear politicians continually use the word "democracy". We are not a democracy but it looks like MO is trying to move in that direction Mad

I truly think that Amendment 3 (Abortion Amendment) was put on the ballot to get their voters out in force, so Amendment 6 has a chance to pass. Yes, I am jaded but with good reason, the last couple elections have had amendments that sounded conservative but were not and were funded by the usual lefties.

100%. I despise with a passion any and all ballot initiatives or propositions. These things have no business anywhere on a ballot. The only decision for a voter on a ballot should be who he or she chooses to be his or her representative.
