There was a time when TNF made high quality gear in the US. That time has long passed. Attempting to take the moral high ground while making products in Bangladesh is bullshit. One of many companies that was started by good people, acquired by corporations and attempting to conduct business on the foundations of it's founders. Let me help you out. Columbia is left-leaning and the CEO spoke out several times against Trump and some of his policies, but they have not allowed themselves to be over-run by the WOKE and Cancel culture. (not yet anyway) | |||

The stuff the NF cranks out now is absolute garbage. It’s been that way for well over a decade. They went from premium expedition gear to substandard apparel more suited to a night on the town advertising their garbage. I hate their stance as well but you should recognize they make some quality gear and they make lower quality “fashion” gear. I’ve got some NF stuff that is the equal of anything I’ve ever purchased. I wouldn’t trade their Patrol ski gloves for anything else. As for being made overseas, while I hate that, plenty of overseas products are superior to US made. It’s tough to make blanket statements like US made is better. Yes it is better for America but it’s not necessarily better quality. There are plenty of products that destroy that mantra quality wise. So many companies are going woke it is getting tough to buy gear from anyone politically aligned with me. And I could never watch a movie again. Ever. At this point I reserve my cancel culture for especially egregious events. Not selling jackets to that oil company is dumb as shit but is it worse than Coke? Or almost every major American company out there? I might end up having to sew my own clothes together. Lol | |||

I’m going to guess that philosophically, Arc’teryx is little different from the companies being discussed in this thread. I can tell you though that I saw a lot of their outerwear on the men in Special Forces that trained on my ranger district. They can wear whatever they want and they often chose Arc’teryx I’ll add that it could well be true that they were serving as field testers for the company.This message has been edited. Companies will increasingly do this, because the customers they care about most (think young) will demand it. They'll accept that older, whiter people may shun their brand if they can get the youngins' who'll be brand loyal for decades. They'll also consider it likely that the older, whiter buyers will still buy, because A). They don't care enough B). If all the brands are doing the same thing (which is likely) they'll have to buy something. | |||

I don't think you can guess at Arc'teryx' politics from the fact that elite soldiers like it. They like it because they make very-high quality gear, and gear with the reputation of being very high quality. Google for Arc'teryx' political views - that information is readily available. It is certainly vocally pro-environmental conservation. Other political stands are easy to find online. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything. | |||
