Peace through superior firepower |
I know this film is loved by many people, but it just doesn't interest me. Some day, perhaps.

Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated |
Too many times to count. It's a definite part of the Christmas and Holiday season. Enjoy!! "Someday I hope to be half the man my bird-dog thinks I am." FBLM LGB!

I listened to Jean Shepherd on WOR AM 710 out of NYC almost every night as a pre teen and teen. I somehow got into Shep and was a regular listener. 1015 to 1100 PM every week night. His stories about growing up, his Old Man, Uncle Carl, his Dad's buddies from the Mill, His time in the Army, etc. Funny stuff. I can recall hearing the Christmas Story ON his radio show MANY years ago. It was a yearly ritual.

I was 29 when this came out in 1983 so I didn't see it until it hit HBO but I've seen it at least once every year since and most years I see at least parts of it a lot more than once. Definitely a Christmas classic. I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one.

Save an Elephant Kill a Poacher |
I recorded it last year. This year I put it on when working around the house and always find myself eventually sitting down to watch it. A great movie. Love it. 'I am the danger'...Hiesenberg NRA Certified Pistol Instructor NRA Certified Rifle Instructor NRA Life Member

I've seen it maybe 10 times. I remember flirting with this girl in high school in the mid-'80s who would become my college girlfriend. She was telling me how she and her brother had seen this hilarious movie in the theater in '83 called A Christmas Story. They were the only ones in the theater, and they were laughing constantly. I had never heard of it. I watched it with her later in December on VHS and agreed that it was pretty funny. I had no idea it would later become the big famous mainstream Christmas film that it now is.

Plowing straight ahead come what may |
More than I can count (my kids loved it...they always loved the tongue sticking to the flag pole scene and the Chinese restaurant duck scene) ******************************************************** "we've gotta roll with the punches, learn to play all of our hunches Making the best of what ever comes our way Forget that blind ambition and learn to trust your intuition Plowing straight ahead come what may And theres a cowboy in the jungle" Jimmy Buffet

Maybe 6-7 times. I’m more of a Christmas Vacation kind of guy. I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown ................................... When you have no future, you live in the past. " Sycamore Row" by John Grisham

I watch that and Christmas Vacation several times between Thanksgiving and New Years. I’d guess I’ve seen both 50 times at least. My yearly ritual is to drink a few Marty Moose mugs of Buffalo Trace Bourbon cream and watch Christmas Vacation after everyone goes to bed on Thanksgiving. I usually watch Christmas Story a few days later. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

I've never seen it or have any desire to see it. "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Delusions of Adequacy |
Could barely get through it once. Not my cup of meat. One of my favorite Christmas movies is one that most people probably haven't seen.... Humphrey Bogart's "We're No Angels". I have my own style of humor. I call it Snarkasm.

I've seen bits and pieces of it over the years but I think I've only sat and saw it all the way through once.

Countless times. Took my kids to see it when it came out . My brother and I love that movie. We can recite just about every line in it as they come up. But it also reminds us of growing up in Chicago in the late 40's - early 50's. A trip down memory lane for us.

Probably close to 50 times. I’ve also visited the house in Cleveland that is a museum. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six
