Christmas 2021 at 61. I'd planned on going 1 more year for money reasons, but C19 mandates made the travel unpleasant, and my employer and the pilot association made the job intolerable. After looking at what 1 more year actually would mean in terms of spendable dollars in retirement, family greatly outweighed continuing to work.

I was an independent insurance agent and owned my own business....wasn't in big hurry to retire so didn't until 10-1-2022 when I turned 75. Don't miss the head ache but do miss the people.

Not retired yet, September 2029 should be when I hang it up. September 2031 will be when I start pulling SS. Once I retire I will probably work part time for at least 2 years, just picking when and where I want to work.

Very recently at 50...decided to take advantage of good health and mobility now, also looking to spend more time with aging parents.

Retired at 64.5 years old in 2014, and never looked back. No regrets !

I retired from the Navy in 2015 and had to get a civilian job. I’ve done a little math and I figure I can retire sometime in the first few hours after I pass away.

I had my business from 1972-2022. Still do (very) occasional jobs.

I bailed out of the FAA in 2010, after 33 years of federal service. Then jumped into commercial aviation. I'm mostly retired now, just doing some occasional part time instructing..IPC's, flight reviews and such. That barely covers the costs incurred for all the insurance, subscriptions etc. But it gets ya out n about. I am now getting more into fishing again. Get the boat out at least once a week.

I retired this past August at 66.5 and after 42 years with the company. As others mentioned, my filter was out of spec and managing Gen Z noobies is "Different". It was time.

Retired when I turned 62 in 2019, after 32 years on the job.
Had a plan for retirement, but family stuff and then the COVID boondoggle screwed that pooch. I got tired sitting on the couch, and I decided that going back to work wasn't the worst idea I ever had - albeit at a job with a tenth of the stress (and a quarter of the pay).
Started collecting SocSec once I hit my full retirement age, so they wouldn't end up taking most of it back.

Aging parents was the main reason I retired at 59. Wife was 53. Being able to spend some quality time with our aging parents is something I will be forever grateful for being able to do.

I am loving this retirement gig !
We winterized the motorhome 3 weeks ago and I’m spending a lot of time in my shop.

April 11, 2025, shortly after my 60th B-day.

3 years ago last month, at 64. October 15 2022. A month later I escaped from Crazy Woke Oregon after spending almost 45 years there. Things are much more relaxed now. Not to mention redder.

I retired in 2023, 3 years earlier than planned.

The month I turned 56. That was a little over 5 years ago.

First time on 12/31/21. Second time for good on 3/1/25.
