| I was an independent insurance agent and owned my own business....wasn't in big hurry to retire so didn't until 10-1-2022 when I turned 75. Don't miss the head ache but do miss the people.

Busier than a cat covering crap on a marble floor

| I had my business from 1972-2022. Still do (very) occasional jobs.

Was that you or the dog?

| I retired this past August at 66.5 and after 42 years with the company. As others mentioned, my filter was out of spec and managing Gen Z noobies is "Different". It was time.

Live for today. Tomorrow will cost more

| Retired when I turned 62 in 2019, after 32 years on the job. Had a plan for retirement, but family stuff and then the COVID boondoggle screwed that pooch. I got tired sitting on the couch, and I decided that going back to work wasn't the worst idea I ever had - albeit at a job with a tenth of the stress (and a quarter of the pay). Started collecting SocSec once I hit my full retirement age, so they wouldn't end up taking most of it back.

Aging parents was the main reason I retired at 59. Wife was 53. Being able to spend some quality time with our aging parents is something I will be forever grateful for being able to do. |
