I'm deleting threads this morning. Incredible. What part of stop creating new threads on this shit do you guys not understand? STOP creating threads about this crap. STOP creating threads which purport to be one thing, but are actually another. Stop trying to throw a pork chop past the wolf. These threads I'm deleting or locking- these aren't from low-post count members who visit the board infrequently. These threads are from members who damn well know better, and I want you to behave like you know where you are. | |||

Watching less and less all the time ~ thank God for Netflix. The continual pounding of Media Cartel and their agenda just makes me angry. On the other hand if enough of us got angry enough then it might incite some positive action. Maybe the word "energize" is a better word than incite. Amen. This crap/propaganda is now infecting work. Guess me just being a contractor (read tier 2 employee) in this case is a good thing and I'm glad the contract ends soon. The compensation sucks anyway. I feel it's healthy and important to talk openly about these things, including religion, politics, etc. I also believe it's ESSENTIAL we get our information from MULTIPLE sources -- both sides politically at least -- if we're going to claim we're "informed" about anything at all. Agreed. The notion that the "personal is political" and "you can't be neutral on a moving train" has pervaded way too many things. It's untenable, it's dissatisfying, and pretty well exhausting. Well, this is a good idea. One reason is that much of the "news" and commentary is just sensationalized bloviation - it will be forgotten by tomorrow. Other things on the "news" are important and maybe threatening, but it takes a bit of time and thought to consider them and figure out the ramifications. That is not done best in the super-heated atmosphere of social media. Like others here, I have unfriended a lot of people on Facebook, just because I don't want to read all about their psycho-political turmoil or read their virtue-signalling. Finally, there are enough social media sites where you can keep the pot boiling if you want to. Pick the topic. Back to which gun lube is the best, whether 9mm is really as good as .45 ACP, what round is the best for bears, if the P365 is reliable or not, and if Sig QC has gone downhill since they got new management. | |||
