hrcjon, excellent info! Thanks. It sounds like after considering all that you mentioned the SV is the way I should go.

A few members did bring up very valid points that is is probably better to pass on this GSX-R600. The certificate of destruction just sounds bad. The bike very well could have sustained fairing damage and a subframe hit and could be repaired but why risk it to save some cash.

While scanning this thread my friend in VA who works at a dealership just let me know my favorite BMW R NineT model just came in used. 2k miles and a very good price. Decisions decisions! I certainly can't track one of those but I could get it and then turn my SV into a track bike. Hmmmmm.

Sounds like you're leaning away from a bargain, looks like a good idea. I'll admit when I first saw this thread a day or so ago I was puzzled that you asked for opinions, then seemed to be telling folks who tried to offer one, with support, they were wrong due to your intended use as a track only bike.

If ever any undetected weakness from a crash were going to reveal itself in the ugliest of ways it seems that's far more likely in the stress of a track environment rather than toodling to Kroger.

Be safe first, I enjoy living vicariously as we follow all your purchases and projects. Smile

Then why does it say you can reassign it two times?

Honest and clear title and VIN.

Stickman428's seller presumably has title---certificate of destruction. The seller is either the original owner or he acquired it from a third party. If acquired from a third party it could have been from a towing or insurance company. Not out but already assigned. That'll be one strike or reassignment.

If seller was the original owner and stickman428 had purchased it, it would then be reassigned. One assignment, heck of a wicket. And if stickman428 then decides to move the unit forward, two reassignments and out. Prospective third owner is stuck with it. Third slip becomes a silly mid off.

Hope this washes away any confusion.

Smile

Hrcjon,

How bad of an idea would it be to track my R1? I've been riding it a lot lately and hopped back on my SV today and the high placement of the clipons is not good. Overall I feel MUCH more comfortable on the R1. Yeah the power is a bit much but the way it turns and the ergos are great! I guess I could lower the clipons a little but with the fairing where it is I wonder if I could modify the SV to feel more like the R1? (Those clipons on the R1 are LOW!) Overall the SV is just feeling weird now that I'm used to the R1.
