Never seen anything like this, hundreds of dragonfly’s buzzing around. I apologize for the less than professional video, best I could manage. https://vimeo.com/445072298?ref=em-share They were everywhere. It was crazy! ----------------------------------------------- What's the sense in working hard if you never get to play?

My boys were catching them left and right. We’ve got bees and I’m afraid what they’ll do to them. I read dragonfly’s are voracious insect carnivore’s. ----------------------------------------------- What's the sense in working hard if you never get to play?

Bye, skeeters... I have noticed them in high numbers around the time tropical storms/'caines have been through the neighborhood. Not sure if it is coincidental. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא שוב!

how strange. We have been talking for a few weeks about the large number of dragon flies. We get groups of 20 to 30 all flying around.

Must have had a hatch of some sort As much as I like my migratory purple martins they dont feast on mosquitos. They feast on dragonfly’s which feast on mosquitos. After the little TS the other week the martins left and the dragonfly’s are back and feasting again ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Live today as if it may be your last and learn today as if you will live forever

They showed up here one late afternoon last Summer, thousands of them, max altitude four or five feet. I sat at the top of the hill that is our back yard watching them. Maybe a half hour or more, one of the most fantastic things I've seen in nature. And yep, our horrible Asian tiger mosquito problem disappeared for maybe a day or more. Thanks for reminding me. ![]() Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

I watched thousands of them flying over my horse pasture about 4:00 pm yesterday. I see it every year about this time, not sure whether they have just emerged from the nymph stage or it is aerial breeding time or both. The adults only live for about two months, it is an incredible sight to see when the sunlight hits their wings. Have not seen a mosquito for a while. We consistently have a fair amount in our backyard. Not sure if it's due to the pool, but my girls love watching them. The Enemy's gate is down.

did not know they got after bees,,,, we had small cluster of some type of mayfly like bug flying around out in the back yard, small flying things, bigger than a flying ant, about the size of a mayfly, 2 dragonflies found the cluster and took turns flying thru the mayflies, in about 10 miuntes, that cluster was cut in halve or less https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/
