I enjoyed strength sports, but I never ran hurdles. Trying to teach me to do so, is as much of a waste of effort, as trying to teach 97 IQ kids the same as the 150 IQ kids. They need to be separated, and taught differently, because they are different. I could have been coached to be a better runner than I was - but it would have been a totally different program than coaching folks meant to run hurdles. | |||

My daughter was in a talented/gifted program in a minority majority school. The T/G kids were segregated from the rest, but the whole school qualified for additional funds. I once asked the principal, a great lady, what she thought about the disparity in the way the two groups were educated, since one group was largely black, the other white/Asian. She said she didn't get the black kids until they were 10 or 11, by then it was too late to do anything with them, because their attitudes towards education and white culture were firmly fixed. She and I had a number of good conversations. She was deeply saddened that her culture had become one of criminality. | |||

Actually, since everyone on the left is so enamored with calling everything 'racist', this is a perfect example of the correct use of the term. DeBlasio is separating groups based on skin tone and asserting that some are not capable based solely on their skin tones. No clearer example of racism than that.
