Sad. Also, Her Son killed himself in 2020. I don’t think she had an easy life.

I'm sure there are lessons to be learned from this. Lots of money, lots of fame and all the nice things that go with it. A tremendous family story to be proud of. Talent, good looks. Yet her life was a train wreck.

Tragic for her and the remainder of her family.

Don’t freak out when the receipts come due on your mood altering drug use…

Yeah…
Watching that video of the young Elvis I’m reminded that he grew up poor and had to struggle in life to achieve. It’s a shame he ended up such a poor father and without the ability to pass along a work ethic. Perhaps there’s something to be said for a struggle.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

A woman who could/should have lived the perfect life. Nope.

I remember the M. Jackson stuff…what a mess.

Elvis used to hang out in my area. He had a steady girlfriend that he came to see. It was in the Fifties before he hit it big. He was nice and polite and well received particularly among the young women. He put on several small shows at the local lodge.
The home in which he grew up is in Tupelo and was very tiny.

Well, he did have a thing for the young women. I think Priscilla was, what, 13-14 when he started banging her. I think there's a word for fellas like that nowadays.

There were never any accusations of pedophilic behavior that I recall. It would have been all over the tabloids of the time. Jerry Lee Lewis had those issues and there was considerable publicity.
He was 24 when they met and she was 14,they did not marry until she was about 21.
