You doubt it breaks his heart or you doubt that some of the victims were psychologically destroyed? If the latter how the fuck would you know?

I get it, but all that stuff aside - if it were my child - I wouldn't give a warm cup of piss for what best 'serves society'.

My ex was abused something like this. She is a nice person, but inside her is a burning fire of anger. She cannot let it go, it pretty much consumes her. She will never have a "normal" life, and there are millions of women just like her. -c1steve

It is unfortunate, but many people simply refuse to believe women who come forward with claims of sexual abuse. No wonder they do not want to come forward. It happened in this case, and it is happening with many other current claims of sexual abuse. Let that sink in for a moment. Think of whether you believe these women from this story (and why), and whether you doubt other women in other situations (and why).

Gustofer, your statement is one component of the predatory practices that child sexual abusers rely on to get away with what they do for years. So, while not actually defending him, you are complicit in the perpetuation of his abuses. _____________________________________________ Never use more than three words to say "I don't know"

Pretty much agree. Imagine if you were 12 and the gym coach at you Middle School -- who everybody thought was the greatest -- used you as a f&*k toy for the duration of 7th grade. Pretty sure you would be dealing with that mentally your whole life. ----------------------------------- Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Palm said it right. He is a involved in the system and sees this like this every day. Well, I was an athlete at Michigan, not ichigan State, and day before yesterday, talked to a lady friend, who was a gymnast at Michigan in the early 2000s. She said that it was common knowledge that Dr Nassar was a creep, and she was told not to seek treatment from him. It was well known that Dr Nassar was a creep up to no good, but the authorities at MSU carried on like nothing was going on. If you think you can, YOU WILL!!!!!

I think many of you may be misreading what Gustofer meant (though I may be, as well). I think it is wrong to assume that all of the women were destroyed by this. I have known women who have survived abuse like this and have come through it through their own strength and with the help of others. No doubt they will be affected by what happened for the rest of their lives, but destroyed by it? I'd give them more credit than that, especially after seeing how so many of them torn him a new asshole in court. To assume what Karpteach said is to insinuate that many of these women are weak or fragile and incapable of surviving such trauma. I hope this asshole has a lot of fun in prison for a very long time. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I hope that your portrayal of what Gustofer meant is accurate. I think you are certainly correct that not all of the victims would have been "psychologically destroyed," but many of them were and said as much during their victim impact statements. So yes, hopefully this all comes down to a simple misinterpretation about "all" of the victims vs. "some" of the victims.

I can only imagine what these girls parents must have felt, assuming they believed them. If that was my daughter I'm seriously not sure he would be alive and I would be in jail... OK, so the guy has been declared to be a greater blight upon humanity that Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot combined. He has listened to 972 victim impact statements and his sentencing of 472,000 years in prison was carried live all over the world, on all channels, as well as the signal being beamed into space for the fucking Martians. OK, so, what now? How much further can we condemn this slug? Where were all the people who could have done something about this? Where were the parents? Where were the administrators of this organization or that? This guy committed these crimes over a long period of time. Why was it allowed? Hello? McFly??

I think the second trial was not just a show trial, it was intended to set the stage for lawsuits against MSU, USA Gymnastics, and various individuals. If nothing else, it should also motivate parents to closely monitor those doctors, coaches, etc, they entrust their children to. ... stirred anti-clockwise.

Edge seeking Sharp blade! |
My daughter had a creepy science teacher in junior high. She didn't put up with any of his games and got poor grades as a result. I also had heard about him from other students. When my son got scheduled with him after my daughter had negative experience with him, I had to discuss this with the principal since it was a big deal to move my son from his class due to block scheduling. I was adamant my son wasn't going to be in his class and they were reluctant to accommodate my wishes. I'm confident my concerns at least caused scrutiny, and he was eventually fired for porn on his district computer. His next job was at wal mart.

The way this story has been handled in the news media is lurid, especially the way this guy's sentencing was aired live on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. Hell, even OANN carried it live. It's lurid. It's tabloid-esque. That sentencing was not carried live by these news organizations out of a sense of justice or a perceived obligation to inform the public. Carrying that crap live was a form of pornography. CNN and the rest were pimpin' the Dirty Doctor.

It's all likely to keep the focus on this topic and associate it with the pussy grabber in chief and keep everyone appalled. Look forward to 7 years of coverage of sexual predators. Maybe they'll give up a bit after DT wins in 2020.

Anyone, I mean anyone who knew, really knew and could prove what was going on or took hush money in my opinion is guilty of letting this guy continue abusing these girls. They are responsible for letting this continue to others when they could have stopped it. Some people will sacrifice their integrity and look the other way or not say anything just to win or be famous at all cost. Just look at what has been going on over the last year with all the people being accused of sexual misconduct or rape. People knew they just did not want to rock the boat.
