Agree about Rincon Heights.

We used to stay out all night driving around San Francisco and even hanging out on the sidewalks of downtown while I was in high school.

The only thing characteristic was the number of gay people out. I'm sure the sane people are mostly staying indoors now.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." The current state of San Francisco is very sad. 20 years or so ago my wife and I loved to drive out and have some fun in the area. Drive the coast highway for a ways, eat some great food, shop, etc. A very scenic and fun city to visit for a few days. Always expensive but we budgeted for it. Our trips now do not involve the beautiful scenery of the west coast at all.

I already read an article about how the murder of this wealthy white person will negatively affect people of color. It stated there will be an outcry for more police presence. More police means a better chance of them targeting people of color.

Well, in San Francisco, with the prior DA, there was no such thing as a guilty black criminal. The police were basically told in so many words that the DA's office was not going to prosecute blacks, since the commies actually think blacks in prisons are mostly innocent, that a racist white system put them there. That is how extremely fucked up their minds are.

San Francisco police arrests fellow tech exec for stabbing murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee

Bob Lee was stabbed to death on April 4 while in San Fran for a tech conference
Police have arrested a tech executive who lives in the Bay Area

San Francisco police have arrested a fellow tech executive for the stabbing murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee.

Lee was stabbed in the street last week. He was visiting the city from Miami, where he lived.

Police are yet to confirm an identity for the suspect, but Mission Local reports he was a fellow tech executive who lives in the Bay Area.

t is unclear if the man attended the same tech conference Lee was in town for, but the pair were seen in a car together at around 2.30am, moments before the stabbing.

They had some kind of confrontation that led to the attack, according to police sources.

Lee somehow staggered out of the car and was picked up on surveillance footage struggling to walk nearby afterwards.

The harrowing surveillance footage shows Lee stumbling through the city streets after being stabbed.

He died in the hospital later that morning.

Lee's death was invoked as the latest example of escalating crime in the Democrat city and led to increased criticism of Mayor London Breed.

Over the weekend, she told residents not to 'jump to conclusions' about his death and said people 'will be surprised when the facts come out'.

Police announced that a 43-year-old man named Nima Momeni stabbed Lee after an argument. Momeni was the owner of a company called Expand IT.

Mission Local reported that police believe Lee and Momeni were driving together in the early morning hours in a car registered to Momeni.

Momeni allegedly stabbed Lee multiple times after an argument, according to the report, which also stated that a knife was recovered near the scene.

A UC Berkeley graduate. Gee, I'm all broken up over it.

I guess we'll find there is a sexual component to this. Yes, Lee was married and had kids, but either these two guys were screwing each other, or one of them wanted to screw the other and their advances were rebuffed, or- less likely- one of them was banging the other's SO. It's going to be something like that. Just a feeling. It's San Francisco, after all.

Like many of you, I just assumed that Lee was stabbed by some homeless person.

Well this IS San Francisco. Statistically speaking there are about as many tech moguls/entrepreneurs/IT Consultants as homeless on the streets there. Good odds either way, you just picked "tails" instead of "heads"

Actually laughed out loud at that…

My Econ professor, Nobel laureate George Stigler, once said in class: “You can generally confirm the validity of economic finding by listening to any argument offered by a UC Berkeley graduate and turning that finding around by 180 degrees. It’s amazing how well that works.”

He was not only the most humorous professor I had, but not a month goes by that I am reminded of something he said in class.

sorry to disappoint, but "a spokesperson for U.C. Berkeley told NBC News on Friday that the university has "no record of graduation or attendance" for a person named Nima Momeni."

Cash App founder Bob Lee was fatally stabbed by an IT consultant near downtown San Francisco after the two men — who police say knew each other — got into an argument over the suspect's sister, according to court documents obtained Friday by NBC News.

The suspect — 38-year-old Nima Momeni of Emeryville, a suburb of San Francisco — drove Lee to a secluded area and stabbed him three times with a 4-inch kitchen knife, including twice in the chest, according to the documents. At least one of the stab wounds punctured Lee's heart.

At one point, Momeni's sister sent a text to Lee, the documents show. “Just wanted to make sure your doing ok Cause know nima came wayyyyyy down hard on you," she wrote, according to the documents.

"Thank you for being such a classy man handling it with class," she added. "Love you Selfish pricks."

Momeni was arrested on Thursday morning after a nine-day manhunt that attracted national attention and intensified scrutiny on public safety issues in the Bay Area.

He will be charged with murder, San Francisco's district attorney told reporters on Thursday. He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 25, a spokesman for the district attorney's office confirmed, and he faces 26 years to life behind bars if convicted.

Lee and a friend interviewed by police had been hanging out in a hotel room in San Francisco on the evening of April 3, according to the documents. The friend, identified in the filings as Witness 1, noticed Lee having a conversation with Momeni.

The witness heard Momeni asking Lee whether Momeni's sister had been "doing drugs or anything inappropriate" earlier that day. Lee had to "reassure" Momeni that "nothing inappropriate had happened," according to the documents.

Later that night, a surveillance camera recorded Lee and Momeni getting into Momeni's white BMW outside his sister's apartment. Additional footage obtained by police shows the BMW heading to a "dark and secluded area" near downtown San Francisco.

The two men are later seen standing together on a sidewalk for a few minutes before Momeni apparently stabs Lee. Momeni then tossed the knife, got back in his car and sped away.

When police officers arrived at the scene around 2:30 a.m., according to the documents, they found Lee unresponsive, lying in the street and bleeding "uncontrollably." When officers returned to canvass the area, they found the blood-stained knife.

"Defendant did not use some type of pocket knife, but a cooking knife from an apartment and kitchen," the court documents state. "This was a planned and deliberate attack."

Momeni describes himself as an entrepreneur on his LinkedIn page. He lists himself as the owner of a tech company called Expand IT Inc. and as a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

However, a spokesperson for U.C. Berkeley told NBC News on Friday that the university has "no record of graduation or attendance" for a person named Nima Momeni.

A little more detail:
https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea...ni-case-17898250.php

Nima Momeni, who is accused of killing Bob Lee, stabbed the Cash App founder with a kitchen knife in an attack that city prosecutors described as “planned” and “deliberate” in court documents NBC Bay Area released Friday.

Shortly before the murder, the two men argued over the suspect’s sister, before Momeni reportedly drove Lee to a “secluded area” of the city, stabbed him three times and fled, leaving Lee “to slowly die,” the documents alleged.

Momeni, a 38-year-old resident of Emeryville, was charged with murder by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and briefly appeared in court Friday morning. His official arraignment was delayed until April 25 because his lawyer, Paula Canny, is on vacation. Canny’s brother, Robert Canny, appeared in her place.

“The facts of what occurred, or didn’t occur, will come out over time,” Robert Canny said to reporters after the hearing, according to CBS News.

The sister of Nima Momeni, left, stands in the Hall of Justice in San Francisco on Friday, April 14, 2023, ahead of an appearance by her brother, who has been charged with murder in the death of tech entrepreneur Bob Lee. Momeni's arraignment was rescheduled to April 25, 2023, and he did not enter a plea.

In the document issued Friday — a motion to detain Momeni without bail — prosecutors provided an outline of the events leading up to the April 4 stabbing, based on interviews with witnesses and evidence collected by police. Lee was allegedly drinking with friends, including Momeni’s sister, at an apartment in the Mission on the afternoon of April 3, the day before the stabbing. The party later moved to Lee’s room at the 1 Hotel at 8 Mission St., where he was staying while visiting the city, the documents said.

A person in the group, who observed a conversation between Lee and Momeni, alleged that Momeni asked Lee whether his sister “was doing drugs or anything inappropriate.” Lee had to reassure Momeni “that nothing inappropriate had happened,” according to the court record’s account of the witness’s story.

Momeni and Lee reportedly later visited the sister at her Millennium Tower apartment, and security footage from April 4 showed the two getting into an elevator, leaving the building and getting into Momeni’s white BMW at about 2 a.m., according to the documents. Surveillance footage shows the BMW drive “to a dark and secluded area” on Main Street.

When police found Lee at 365 Main St. at 2:35 a.m., he was reportedly bleeding “uncontrollably” from “wounds to his chest and hip,” the documents said. Lee was taken to San Francisco General, where he was later pronounced dead. Police canvassed the area and found a kitchen knife with a 4-inch blade, according to the charging papers.

Prosecutors said a text message from the sister to Lee indicated that Lee and Momeni were arguing. “Just wanted to make sure your doing ok Cause I know nima came wayyyyyy down hard on you And thank you for being such a classy |man handling it with class Love you Selfish pricks.”

If convicted, Momeni faces 26 years to life, the court records say.

Still a shithole, and that's from my own 2 eyes, having visited there in the not too distant past. Still poop and needles on the street. Not difficult to find.

Even if this one murder didn't happen, it's still a fact that murders are up 36% compared to 3 years ago.

Not to mention that many property crimes have been reclassified into more minor crimes or not even a crime. Like shoplifting. So the property crime numbers look better than they really are.
