That is my situation also. I joined this forum because of all the knowledgeable posts that I was reading as a visitor.

Exactly why The Forum remains a bastions of enjoyable discourse rather than some other nonsense and prattle.

Thank you Para.

I'm in the stealth club too. Coming up on my 20th anniversary here and rarely post. I joined after researching my first Sig buy (P-239, 9mm) and learned so much I was hooked. Like others have said, I am so impressed at the knowledge freely available here. I don't have the expertise to elevate the discussions much so I avoid adding to the noise instead.

Since I am posting, I'd like to say thank you very much for all of the wisdom and experience you all have shared over the years....it's been much appreciated on this end!

I feel the same way especially ref politics. As a legal immigrant, I feel it only correct to refrain from posting about my adopted country's political system except to say that I have a heavy heart since November. However, I did my civic duty and will heed any call to assist in anyway I can, even if, at my advanced age, I can only carry the water and make the sandwiches...

Hello all, I haven't posted much and not at all in awhile. This being due to having parkinson's and the difficulty it poses in typing. I do however check in almost every day to read what is going on. I want to thank everyone for the insight you provide on such a wide variety of topics.

I'm in the same boat too. In social circles I have a few folks that look to me for info on firearms but I freely admit my knowledge is severely limited compared to most of the folks here, so I normally just keep quiet and learn Smile

Good for you Para and thanks for running a great forum. Those coming out of the woodwork are most likely trying to sell items at a huge markup as examples you provided.

That drives me nuts just like I see certain websites doing today. Last week I had a friend desperate for both .380 defense and practice ammo. I have plenty and was willing to part with some so I sold it at regular purchase price.

I try not to muddy up a thread unless I can actually contribute something useful or helpful, otherwise I frequent SF often and stay in the backround.

Well, maybe for some of us old folk, it might be like what my uncle used to say about our town mayor:

"That old boy has to shuck a big pile of oysters to come up with his rare pearls of wisdom!"
