I was going to post something similar. As a cyclist myself, I would avoid a street like that like the plague. That design will get people killed. But of course, that concern is always secondary to these people and these climate change cultists.

I like the wide suicide lane!! I know how people drive. I guess the first bicylist killed will get the street named after him. That is what happened here.

A little bit of an aside, but related. In my area of town they built a huge new neighborhood from scratch. They built a 4 lane boulevard with center grass median and left hand turn lanes with a 45 mph speed limit about 5 miles long. They also put in a concrete bicycle lane the size a standard auto lane with room for two way bicycle traffic completely separated from the auto lanes by a grass median. And yet the bicycle f##kwads insist on riding in the auto lanes, tying up traffic that has to slow and merge over to pass them, making it exponentially more likely that they will get hit. I can't figure out if they are trying to make some kind of point or if they are just complete idiots or complete assholes.

I had to check when this news story was first posted. If it had been today I would have assumed it had to be some kind of elaborate April Fools joke.

So they are watching the stupidity in Portland with the bike lane BS and doing a hold my wine cooler and watch this.

They have one road almost that screwed up.
Four lane road with a mid lane divider.
Right lane is for right turn only so it bottlenecks.
No right on red or when the left lane is green.
Have to wait for the green bike symbol to go red then the right turn is green.

It's almost impossible to make a left turn now with concrete barriers.
Gotta go down past where you want to go, turn left at the light then make a U-turn so you can go right.

All that stupid shit for bike lanes that have no bike traffic.

Lunacy there? Yeah, sure is. It just keeps getting worse. Used to be a fantastic place to live, very conservative, etc.

I have family in Sandy Eggo and I have been watching this story for some time now.

We all like to eat, we must eat, so don't try to put the food growers out of business!!!

There isn't any, I think, any empty land available in Sandy Eggo, and anytime something comes up it gets snatched up by real estate developers, both commercial and residential. This following story smells like greed to me, snatch the land and line pockets. Put the farmers out of business.

I'm guessing it is to encourage using bicycles instead of automobiles, thus reducing the CO2 production. It is witless and no doubt dangerous. I have never thought it a good idea to mix bicycles and automobiles on the same strip of pavement. A separate bike trail, OK, but not where they can interact.

I’m a cyclist and stick to trails, sidewalks, etc. I don’t ride on the roads with motorized vehicles as I think it’s dumb as shit and a good way to get injured or die. Nothing worse than the staged pack of 20 or 50 riding on an extremely busy 3 lane each way road that is 40 mph close to my house during rush hour traffic backing up traffic for a mile.

San Diego was the only Republican-run city in California until the last election, when the Mayor, City Council, and County Board of Supervisors all went to the Democrats. We'll see what happens in November.

Re KUSI and Dan Plante: We LOVE watching news on this station. They always call on conservatives for their opinions, and Dan Plante's reports are always pro-local business. The whole station is pro-family, and we're amazed.
