Love before and after pics of historical locations. My wife and I went there in 2015. We had been staying in London so took the chunnel train to Paris then another train to Bayeau, spent the night and went on a tour of Normandy the following day. Went to all the beaches, Pt du Hoc, American Cemetery, and several other stops to learn of small skirmishes. Had lunch in St. Mere Eglise. The drive through the countryside was amazing and the guide was impeccable in his knowledge and courtesy. If you ever had an inkling to do it, just do it. | |||

Every quarterly issue of "After The Battle" magazine has several WWII articles with dozens of then and now photos. They also publish complete books about military history. I love these types of photos, the then and now. I saw a bunch of WWI photos, then and now, with British soldiers a month or two ago, not sure where, don't think it was here. Saw several Civil War photos like this, too, a few weeks ago. Again, can't recall where. Bob | |||

Thank you for posting that. I wonder if they permit swimming and beachcombing on the Normandy beaches. I remember seeing the before and after pictures of Malmedy. How peaceful and serene it looked today. | |||
