Fella I know here has a F250 dated 1996. Thats fuel injected but has that 460 ci under the hood. Its a two tone and while not show quality condition, it is near perfect original. He does not drive that far or often due to cost of fuel.

My last carbureted vehicle was a 1984 Chevy C20 ("¾-ton," 2wd) pickup truck, with the 7.4 (454). It passed everything but a gas station. Big Grin It was my brother's before me, so it was in the family until 2001.

Despite port fuel injection having been introduced (on the 5.0) circa 1988, they used this engine and carb - in the Police Interceptor, no less - clear to 1991.

Thanks...yeah, they are not known for their fuel economy. It's been years since I checked but I was getting around 12 mpg if I don't put my foot in her. They are fun to drive and I can actually pick up some tools and work on it!

The family selling it built and raced stock cars locally. I did not trust them as they had a earned snakey reputation. Someone did get that truck.

I remember your Road Runner. I had one Chrysler with the 383 and, was privaliged to drive a friends Super Bee with the 383 and 4 speed. Funny, as I looked it up this morning, my aforementioned ThermoQuad, which I screwed thoroughly, was rated at 850 cfm. The replacement price back around 1983 was over $400.00. The Holley and adaptor plate didn't cost anywhere near that.

I've got a few toys w/ Carburetors:

1974 Pontiac Formula 455 w/ 4 Speed
1990 Kawasaki ZX10
1989 Kawasaki ZX7
1988 Honda Hawk GT (NT650)

Unfortunately, I'm NOT currently 'driving' any of these...REALLY Need to get on that! Frown

The '74 Formula WILL end up running a Holley Sniper EFI (Stealth 4150) system though... Cool

2+2’s were Pontiac’s answer to the Impala SS. 1967 was the last year they were made in the U.S.with 1768 produced.

I’ve had mine since 1986, at the time it was a basket case. Restorations are never really ever finished. Yesterday I got a set of original long branch exhaust manifolds for it, a key component of the H.O. engine package my car was built with.
Originally I put it together with the standard manifolds but now it’s time for a change.

Restoration, well somewhat. I added power steering, power brakes and a tilt steering column and changed the car from a three speed floor shift to a four speed floor shift.

Don’t remember if I knew you had that 455 Firebird when we communicated a couple years back bit I have a friend in Florida that has one of maybe twelve 74 Formulas with the Super Duty engine option.

'shovelhead' - I did have it at the time, but it was in a major state of disassembly! Wink

Fortunately, AND unfortunately, it was garage kept...300 miles from my home! I finally brought it up to NH in Nov. 2020

Launch View Cool

I've got a Series III Land-Rover that I need to get back on the road.

Need to hunt down some "NLA" (No Longer Available) parts for the accelerator linkage.

nhracecraft, I LOVE the hood on that baby! That’s one of the best ever made. Gorgeous car BTW it’s even in a great color! My mom had an ice blue Firebird years ago, I’ve always loved those cars. Cool

David Lee,

It’s one of the more obscure motos out there. Unless you’re a hardcore 400cc inline four junkie it will be hard to ID the Suzuki GSF400 aka the Bandit 400.

I love it because it predates the Ducati Monster and IMO was copied by Ducati because of its gorgeous red trellis frame. It isn’t fast, but with a sky high redline and tach that displays 18,000 rpm it’s a hell of a hoot to throw your leg over. Cool

Lots of sweet rides in here!

I’ll add mine - 1970 Olds 442 with the 455 Quadrajet.

Oh the F1 is very naughty. I lost a friend to the 455 in a Grand Prix. Same guy who owned the Super Bee. Tims affection for going fast caught up to him. Flipped the Grand Prix 225 feet, hit a bridge and landed in a creek in Pennsylvania. He was balled up under the dash.

While your Pontiac is a beautiful car, that Blazer is just a heart throb. The 6 cylinder should live forever. I am not perfect at this but I think that is 1970? I came close to owning a later year K5 which was government surplus in wood land camo.

furlough, that has got to be the nicest 442 I've ever seen. My Grand Father owned a 1970 Cutlass in a similar gold color. That Olds had the Rocket 350 and he rolled along pretty fast for a old timer.
