Daily driver for the last 2 years is a 1984 Toyota pickup with 170k miles. I replaced the stock carburetor with a Weber 32/36 progressive, runs like a top.

Two Carter AFBs that feed twin Chrysler M440s…for my 1980 Marinette. And an (MCCK?) to feed the generator.

I hate working on carburetors!

I don't think I've ever had a car with carbs, but my old Honda 360CB (a 1976 if I remember), had carbs. I never fiddled with them.

Q-jet rebuilt about 15 years ago feeding a mild big block chevy. Works just fine.

1982 DJ-5 with a 2.5L Iron Duke. Had the carb rebuilt when I had the motor rebuilt, but it's still pretty lame. At least I can make it up a slight incline now without having Mrs. 'Hook get out to push.

My 1966 Mustang has a carburetor. I can't find any shops nearby that can service it.

Geez, most Triumphs are long gone. Would like to see a photo of those carbs.

I drive my old 79 square body quite often. My daughter drives her probably better than me actually. It has a 454 and a NV 4500 5 speed.

The 57 BelAir with the Frankenstein SBC (76 C10 350 block, early 80s 305 heads, 68 Camaro 327 intake) is topped with an Edelbrock 1406. Runs fine, I can get close to 18mpg. 2.72 rear helps. Non ethanol at the QT.

200 I6 from the 66 Mustang is still on the engine stand. I have the Autolite 1100 for it (tag says reman, so not original). Holley came out with a single barrel TBI that looks very tempting, but I want to keep the original survivor feel of the car. May swap anyway, it’ll be under the air cleaner.

400ex produced in '04. No reverse and a small carb. More fun than it should be.
Otherwise I haven't had a carburetor since I got rid of my first car, an 81 chevy.

I had a 1972 BMW 2002 that had a Solex 1 bbl carb.
A whopping 95HP.
Very difficult to start in sub zero weather as it would flood the engine.
Then you had to have someone hold the butterfly open while giant backfiring flames shot out the top of it until it started.

Great car though for the time.

Wow. 454 is a monster and I nearly owned one in a Chebby truck. I bet all fuel economy is off with that. Heck of a truck.

Never heard of the Solex before lbj. Looks like they were also used on Jeep and VW.

My 1967 Pontiac 2+2 428 cid 376 hp with a Quadrajet.

And my 1982 Harley Davidson FLH modified engine with a 98 Kevin CV carburetor from a 98 EVO Softail.

And maybe someday my 455 powered 55 Buick will be out again.

Had to go look that Pontiac up shovelhead. That is one nice car. My Dad had the Catalina but maybe 1971? 400 ci.

I failed to mention 2 pickup trucks, both of which had carbureted 460s: A 1977 F-150 and a 1969 F-100. Both also had loud exhaust systems (I loved them). The F-150 was stolen from my place of work in 2001 and I bought the F-100 a while later. I had to sell it because the legroom was not enough to be safe (issues getting from the accelerator pedal to the brakes). I really loved the F-150. I'd put a nice bed box in it and Rhinolined the whole thing, box and all. The exhaust system was 2 1/2" and designed to sound good. It only got about 10 mpg in the city, but I didn't car--I loved the sound. I called it "BBB" (Baaad Black Beast).

FWIW, I use Regular gas (E-10) in all my vehicles.

750 Holley Double Pumper on 383 powered Roadrunner. 10.25:1 compression, hi-lift cam and 3k stall converter. Though I am considering the Holley Sniper EFI conversion.
