Gumbo . It's been a tradition for many yrs in our family .

TheBullChristmas Eve: Ham, roast potatoes and asparagus, and wife's chocolate Christmas tree cake with coconut flake-icing. Yearly song of HB to Jesus. She did this as a kid and continues with our family.
Christmas Day: Prime rib, twice-baked potatoes, green beans, cheesecake.
Christmas prime rib is always a constant.
Christmas Eve is usually pasta, but the cake is a constant.

ShneaSIGFor my immediate family Christmas, Kevin and I (and our spouses) will be combining efforts to treat the family to a prime rib dinner. Last time we did it, we completely nailed it. Looking forward to a repeat performance!

Oh, by the way, which one's "Pink?" December 23, 2021, 03:54 PM
bobandmikakoChristmas Eve is shrimp gumbo at large family gathering. Christmas Day is normally some good beef with just my immediate family. This year, it'll be prime ribeye steaks from our favorite butcher cooked on the grill and served with a miso garlic butter sauce.

Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

V-Tailjohn1 -- sounds like your inmates will be eating pretty well. What would I have to do to get locked up in your facility?

Todd HuffmanWe have family coming and going all day, so we just do finger foods and cook more through the day as we need stuff. The family also brings snacks for everyone, so at the end of the day when I go to work we have a good assortment there too.
Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago. December 23, 2021, 04:43 PM

Expert308Traditional, more or less, turkey dinner. My roommate's daughter and her boyfriend are hosting, they got a new turkey-sized propane deep fryer and are doing the turkey that way. My own family (sister, primarily) have banned me for my refusal to get vaccinated, so my "pseudo-family" was kind enough to include me.

ARmanI'm going to a friend's house Christmas. There are going to be a few couples.
Christmas dinner this year? Well it's going to be hamburger/cheeseburgers.
Christmas Eve, I'm going to be doing pan seared Barramundi and Red Snapper, and shrimp. With rice, quinoa, black beans, and cilantro.

I got a good deal on a "Choice" rib roast. Alton Brown isn't offended by "choice" so we'll see how it turns out. Thanks to the
benny6 Prime rib roast thread I'm making some adjustments.

FPNunesGrowing up it was always ham and a ton of sides. Problem was I got sick of ham in short order and pineapple rings made me shudder.
Flash forward 50 some odd years and we are back on a ham kick. This year it is a cherry bourbon/mustard glazed spiral ham. I'm truly looking forward to it. Funny how time changes things.

GT-40DOCChristmas morning I will be putting a large, well seasoned (Cajun) Boston Butt into my smoker where it will spend many hours @ 225F. With that will be dressing, some Brussels Sprouts with blue cheese dressing, and white Pita bread. For dessert will be either carrot cake, or Lemon meringue pie.. I will be eating alone, so there will be plenty of left overs, and I will slice and vac-seal the smoked pork.
