Oh man, I'm so sorry. This is never easy.

I had a Bandit, too, named after Jonny Quest's dog. He was a Boxer puppy, just two or three months old when my folks brought him home, and turned out to be a fabulous companion for 12 years.

My wife and I have always had Scotties throughout our marriage, and as I type this number five and six are looking out the window watching the Squirrel Channel.

Cherish the time you had Bandit. Keep your heart open in case God brings you another soul to take care of.

My condolences. I have lost a number of pets, dogs and cats, over the decades. It never gets easier, though the thought of someday being reunited comforts me.
