Has anybody tried the Dunkin' Donuts bag of bacon yet?

Somebody gave me a Dunkin' Donuts gift card. I'll have to stop by a DD store and try the bacon.
I don't know whether they are still doing this, but not too long ago, there was a free donut for us Old Guys, if you bought a coffee. I think you were supposed to show an AARP card, but I never showed one, I just asked, "Is there a Senior Citizen donut with this coffee?" and the answer was always yes.

No, but we'll be on the lookout for it now. Is this a local test run?

So maybe put the bacon in a donut sandwich as in this post:

Then again, maybe not…

As far as I know, it is now a standard Dunkin' Donuts offering, nationally.

If you do not find it in your local DD store, let me know. I know a guy who manages a whole bunch of DD franchises, I can check with him and find out.

What's up with it being doused in black pepper like that? I like pepper, but that is ridiculous.

I always apply a ridiculous amount of black pepper. Love my Unicorn Magnum pepper mill!

Many DD locations also have Baskin-Robbins. What flavor ice cream goes best with bacon and waffle cone?

Reporting back. I tried it. $2.49 (less 5% Geezer discount) for a bag.

I was underwhelmed.

It looked nothing like the picture in the original post. The picture shows medium well done bacon, looks a bit crispy, with pepper.

I got very thin slices of bacon that was limp and wiggly, not at all crispy, under-done by my standards, no discernible trace of pepper. Not the first time that a Dunkin' Donuts product was nothing like the photo. The (now discontinued) soft pretzel is a case in point.

Considering that the excellent thick-sliced Kirkland Signature bacon from Costco is three dollars and change / pound, the Dunkin' Donuts stuff is not a bargain, not even with the senior discount.

Of course even mediocre bacon is better than no bacon at all, and this was really mediocre.
