Edit to add that I'm not trying to insult you or anything. I just feel that our society has somehow normalized these behaviors in women and we as men somehow are expected to live like that.
Respectful and caring partnerships have been replaced with the bullshit "happy wife happy life" crap and we shouldn't stand for it.
Choose a partner who is respectful of your time and energy.

I agree with this 100%. Even my ex wife Satan would pick colors out with me at HD. My current wife sees value in everything I do and makes it clear her appreciation. She also goes out of her way to make any projects easier on me.

These go to eleven.

I have the same experience with an ex wife and now a loving and awesome girlfriend who is just the most caring and considerate person towards me. She really makes me feel special and precious to her. I always strive to be the best man I can be for her because she earns that daily.
I really want all guys to have what I have and and believe they deserve this.

I have done that... and the pros do it all the time to match new work with existing. Sometimes you need to fine tune. You don't have to mix it all either, you can add a little dark to the light a little at a time or vice versa.
