Left a 25-year job as frequent traveler and witness.
Seldom got more than a coffee from these.
Don’t miss it.

eta: the reason I’m not hanging out in gym clothes is because the worst food in Anytown is better than at the hotel.

I am one of those then. I do travel for business, I but prefer comfort when I am on my personal time. I generally wear gym clothes because I work out after breakfast.

I usually go out and get something good for breakfast instead of choking down the “free” swill the hotel puts out.

Ditto. I don't really give a crap what people staying in a hotel whom I'll never see again think about my appearance. If I want to go down in basketball shorts, a t-shirt and flipflops, then that's what I will go down in.

And I don't care about what the other people are dressed like because, again, I will never see them again.

If I'm on business and I know co-workers will be in the same hotel with me, then yes I will clean up a bit before trudging down.

I've seen this many times. It seems to happen more with large families. I'm surprised that I haven't seen anyone in their underwear yet.

Give it time. And then it ain't gonna be pretty and you'll have to scrub your corneas with bleach...

That is one that I have not seen yet.

Are these the kind with the built-in feets and a trapdoor in the back?

Right. My standard is to go in public expecting to meet the love of your life. For a lot, it seems, the bar is pretty low.

Great example right here...

Yup, they do have the feets. I can not tell from the photo whether they have the trapdoor.

I don't know a single person that sleeps with that type of outfit, let along go through the trouble of packing it for travel. A comfortable pair of shorts and a T is all one really needs unless you're in Alaska near the Arctic Circle in a non insulated cabin in the woods.

Now I know I can be wrong in this assessment, but come-on.

Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves.

Raise your budget for lodging. Try to stay where business travelers on a budget stay.
A few will still slip through, a sign of the times.

The people at these motels are not exactly your neighbors. Hell, they can be from anywhere.

I stop in and grab some coffee and a donut but I have to say, I have never seen anyone in their PJ's before.

Welp, this morning, had a pack of teenage girls come rolling down, all wearing some form of super fuzzy bunny slippers...along with flannel PJ's Roll Eyes Wasn't a holiday Inn but, an Embassy Suites.

Usually staying at business locations helps minimize the occurrence of slobs. The frequency is, frequent though. Hitting the breakfast offering before the masses also helps, today slept-in and I got the visual. Roll Eyes
