Today is the big day-Putin's meeting with Trump in Alaska. My hopes are not high for a peace agreement. I think neither Putin nor Zelenskyy has been hurt enough to stop the killing. Putin most likely has not given up his dream of the restoration of the Russian empire; and Zelenskyy dreams he can get peace without territorial concessions that fit geopolitical reality (Crimea, Donbas, and a land corridor to Crimea).

I give Trump huge credit for still trying.

Still keeping my fingers crossed.

1.6 millions illegals are GONE.

That saves roughly $8,800,000,000 per MONTH or roughly $105.6B per YEAR.

Oh HELL YES!!!!

I’m skeptical of “$8,800,000,000 per MONTH”.

Baltimore is quite a bit worse than DC WRT juveniles committing very adult crimes, especially carjacking.

I no longer recommend going to Baltimore under any circumstances.

This time, charge the lot under 18 U.S. Code § 2119 ~, then give them 15 year consecutive sentences for each crime.

Why?

That's $5500 per illegal per month to house, feed, educate, provide medical care to, police, and defend each fucking one.

With half the big city funding (e.g., NYC, Boston, LA) going to NGOs to dole out, and the NGOs "taste" from that trough, I bet it was actually more than that.

He goes through all the politically sabotaged cases against Hillary and the Clinton Foundation that Obama's people quashed.

Someone wrote down the timeline, with names. I guess those involved managed to convince themselves that all these documents they over classified to prevent public release would never see the light of day.

I visited the Trump/Kennedy center early this year. There is a LOT of real estate between those 2 sites.

I don't recall seeing homeless camps, but I wasn't looking for the, either.

I could have taken you on a tour of the homeless camps down there, there were so many. While it didn't look like Woodstock, LA, Portland, San Fran, or Seattle, las time I drove from Georgetown on the Whitehurst Freeway, then on to E Street, NW, to get to my I-66 escape route to Virginia (about 1 mile) I saw easily 50 tents, and I wasn't really looking.

Interestingly enough I know guy from church who was a street wino an drug user who lived down there for nearly a decade. He just celebrated 38 years of sobriety, and thinks this (enforced treatment) is exactly what's needed.

Hillary Cl8nton said if Pres8d3nt Trump can end the Ukraine war without Ukraine ceding territory. She'd nominate PDJT for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Putin should withdraw immediately just to force her to do so.

Slight tangent...

Today's peace summit between Trump and Putin took place at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Anchorage.

When I lived in Anchorage, my employer had our 2011 summer picnic at JBER and I got to drive my truck on parts of the base. Here is one of the things I saw that day driving on JBER.

Trump–Putin Summit Ends With Hopes of Deal but No Cease-Fire

Trump said ’there’s no deal until there’s a deal' and said he would consult with NATO and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska—U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded their high-stakes summit in Alaska on Friday, announcing progress but no immediate cease-fire in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Following about three hours of direct talks, the two leaders spoke briefly at a joint press conference. Both leaders said the meeting was productive, but shared few specifics about the possible deal to end the 3 ½-year conflict in Ukraine.

“I expect that today’s agreement will be the starting point not only for the solution of the Ukrainian issue, but also will help us bring back business-like and pragmatic relations between Russia and the U.S.,” Putin said, speaking first.

Putin also said Trump came away from the meeting with an understanding of Russia’s national interests.

The U.S. president said: “There were many, many points that we agreed on. Most of them, I would say.

“A couple of big ones that we haven’t quite got there, but we’ve made some headway.”

Trump also said, “there’s no deal until there’s a deal.” He said he would speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his NATO allies about his meeting with Putin.

Trump told Putin before ending the press conference, “We will probably see you again very soon.” Putin responded, “Maybe next time in Moscow.”

Trump called the suggestion “an interesting one,” adding he would “get a little heat on that one, but I could see it possibly happening.”

Putin also said he agreed with Trump that the war with Ukraine would not have happened if he had been the U.S. president at the time of Russia’s invasion.

Putin’s Alaska visit marks his first trip to the United States since 2015. This was also the first face-to-face meeting between Trump and Putin since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The leaders met at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska’s largest military facility, on Friday, in an effort to end more than three years of war, the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War II.

The Alaska summit marked a historic meeting on U.S. soil, not just for its high-stakes agenda but also for the rare personal exchange between the two leaders.

Trump and Putin touched down at the military base around 30 minutes apart, with Trump arriving early.

Following a warm greeting on the tarmac, Trump and Putin walked together towards a riser as U.S. warplanes—B-2 Spirit stealth bombers and F-35 Lightning stealth fighters—made a flyover.

They then rode together in “The Beast,” the U.S. president’s heavily armored limousine, to the summit location.

The leaders then sat down for their bilateral meeting together with their respective delegations. Behind them, a blue backdrop bore the words “Pursuing Peace,” underscoring the summit’s stated goal.

In the lead-up to the summit, Trump struck a positive tone, stating that both Putin and Zelenskyy were open to a cease-fire.

If said Subway sammich contained bacon, even more changes should be brought against him. Wasting good bacon is a sacrilege. It's a crime against humanity. It's an unspeakable transgression of wasting tasty food. Should be punishable by slow and painful torture -- while smelling apple-smoked bacon being consumed by the pain givers, of course.

I think it's great that he's being charged with a felony.
