August 7, 2025: NEW YORK, NY – A whistleblower, currently under indictment by the U.S. Department of Justice and granted political asylum in an undisclosed foreign country, has provided Project Veritas with explosive evidence alleging secret meetings orchestrated by former U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr, media figure Armstrong Williams, and other prominent Washington, D.C., insiders to plan the prosecution of President Donald Trump, his allies, and January 6 defendants.

Patrícia Lélis, hired in 2021 by Armstrong Williams’ media company, Howard Stirk Holdings, claims she attended dozens of meetings where Barr and others devised legal strategies to target Trump supporters and block his political comeback. She provided Project Veritas with extensive handwritten notes and photos documenting these secret discussions which took place from 2021-2023.

Lélis detailed a September 13, 2021, meeting involving herself, Armstrong Williams, CNN Commentator Shermichael Singleton, and former Attorney General William P. Barr, which focused on strategizing for the newly formed January 6th Committee. “The investigation will be focused on people close to Trump and make efforts to formally prosecute these people,” Lélis wrote.

(Much more damning stuff at link...)

Barr was yet another poor choice by DJT, surely strongly advocated by one of his inside rinos. Just like Christopher Wray was highly recommended by Chris Christie.

Trump to Meet Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15

The U.S. president will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of an effort to bring the war in Ukraine to a close.

President Donald Trump announced he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15 as part of an effort to bring the war in Ukraine to a close.

“The highly anticipated meeting between myself, as President of the United States of America, and President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, will take place next Friday, August 15, 2025, in the Great State of Alaska,” he announced on Truth Social on Aug. 8. “Further details to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
This confirmation comes hours after Trump announced that he would be meeting Putin “very shortly” and that a location for the face-to-face would be announced “a little bit later.”

He said earlier in the day that increased military spending by NATO and new U.S. sanctions on nations that buy oil from Russia may have contributed to Moscow’s agreement to the talks.

“We’ve been working on this one for a long time,” Trump told reporters at the White House, adding that the talks to lay the groundwork for a cease-fire negotiation were complicated.

The Kremlin said on Thursday that Putin would meet with Trump “in the coming days,” after which Putin suggested the talks would be held in the United Arab Emirates.
When asked if Putin and Zelenskyy could be signing a peace deal similar to Friday’s pact between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the president was optimistic.

“I think my instinct really tells me that we have a shot at it,” Trump said.

The summit will be Trump’s first meeting with Putin since he returned to the White House in January.

Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow earlier in the week and met with Putin for three hours of talks on Wednesday.
Witkoff arrived in Moscow only days before a deadline set by Trump for Russia to make progress on a peace deal.

The announcement of a face-to-face summit between the two leaders follows Trump’s adoption of more coercive measures to get Moscow to come to the table, including imposing an additional 25 percent tariff on India for purchasing oil from Russia, raising the total rate to 50 percent.

The new tariff rate on India is now the largest of the tariffs imposed on U.S. trading partners.

Trump had said he would also implement “severe tariffs” on Russia if Moscow did not make progress on peace talks with Ukraine by Aug. 9.

India has also been in the crosshairs of Trump’s targeting of the BRICS coalition, a group of emerging market countries headlined by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

In an Aug. 4 Truth Social post, the president said that India is also using the Russian oil it purchases to sell it “on the open market for big products.”
“They don’t care how many people in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian War Machine,” he said.

India has defended the transactions as a means to provide its population with affordable energy because conventional supplies were diverted to Europe following the war in Ukraine, according to a statement by India’s Ministry of External Affairs on Aug. 4.

Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, because he has earned it.

They gave Obama the prize for not being George Bush. This is the truth, plain and simple. They gave him the prize, not for who he was, but for who he wasn't, and he certainly never earned it.

If Donald Trump does not deserve the prize, then no one deserves it. They will give it to whomever they wish, but I think they know that they must do the right thing or forever be known as partisan political frauds.

Every honest person knows the truth of the matter, whether or not they will admit it, because of their foolish, childish hatred of this most consequential of US Presidents. The results are there for all to see. Donald Trump stands head and shoulders above all current world leaders.

Vance is certainly capable, but this is yet another instance of someone doing a job that I’d have expected Secretary of State Rubio to be doing. I wonder if Rubio is getting restless.

I wouldn't worry too much about Secretary Rubio. He's doing fine and working on other "top of the list" items. There are plenty of important items on the list. Think tariff negotiations. Are you seriously second guessing President Trumps decisions personnel wise or am I not understanding your post?

Yesterday marked the third anniversary of the infamous Mar-a-Lago raid by the Biden Administration’s Department of (what was laughingly called) JUSTICE, in which FBI Director, Chris Wray, and AG, Merrick Garland authorized “lethal force” in the conduct of the raid.

Read the attached story from Tyler Durden about the raid and you may learn one or two things you didn’t know about it.

Bastards. I guess we’ll see if the check has come due.

Trump should tell the Nobel Committee to keep any award, he doesn't need that joke of an award on his name, it's standing fell to the bottom when they gave it to BHO for being BHO.

The award is winning, and getting things done, the NBPP and the cover of time are no longer relevant.

Good article, Tmats, thanks for the link.

I wondered at the time, and since,

exactly who Garland and Wray were hoping their authorized FBI killers would shoot in self defense?

President Trump? Melania?
Trump's Secret Service people? The butler, maid and gardener?

I don’t know what to say about the “lethal force” authorization for the raid; I guess those at Mar-a-Lago can be grateful that it wasn’t “weapons free.”

This is interesting. There have always been caveats regarding the use of Wikipedia as a news source. In light of the information provided by Tyler Durden, look at the Wiki article on the Mar-a-Lago raid. Both the “Classified Documents” photo and an accompanying narrative still try to sell the story that we now know to be false.

Wiki, Mar-a-Lago/FBI

ETA: articles I’ve researched, including the Wiki piece linked, insist that a lethal force authorization is “standard law enforcement policy” for the execution of a search warrant. One might ask, what exactly is “standard” about conducting a raid on the residence of a former President of the United States?

The planting of evidence, as decried by Trump and his attorneys, is also dismissed out of hand, and we now know that the colorful “Classified” and “Top Secret” pages were brought to Mar-a-Lago for a staged photograph.

NATO Chief: Trump-Putin Summit Will Test Russia's Intent

The upcoming summit in Alaska between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will serve to gauge the Kremlin's willingness to end the war in Ukraine, according to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Sunday.

Speaking on ABC News' "This Week" with co-anchor Jonathan Karl, Rutte also credited Trump with taking significant steps to pressure Moscow and said Friday's meeting could be a critical step toward peace.

"It is important that the meeting takes place next Friday," he said, adding that Trump is "clearly putting pressure on Putin."

"President Trump broke a deadlock with Putin in February that was very important," Rutte said. "He was the one delivering the big success at the NATO summit [with] the 5% spending commitments in June, [which was] one of the biggest foreign policy successes of the U.S. in the last couple of years."

European nations are pressing for an agreement that includes a ceasefire, reciprocal withdrawals of forces, and firm security guarantees for Ukraine, potentially including a path to NATO membership, and Rutte said he believes Trump supports that position.

"I do believe that," he said. "Donald Trump wants to end this. He wants to end the terrible loss of life. He wants to end the terrible damage being done to the infrastructure in Ukraine."

Rutte added that recent talks in Europe involving Vice President JD Vance, European leaders, and Ukrainian officials have produced "a good statement" ahead of the summit.

The full-scale negotiations, he said, will not only be about security guarantees, but "about the absolute need to acknowledge that Ukraine decides of its own future, that Ukraine has to be a sovereign nation."

Rutte further stressed that the talks must not place NATO limitations on its presence in countries such as Latvia, Estonia, and Finland.

Critics, meanwhile, have warned that the talks could result in Trump yielding concessions to Moscow, but Rutte disagreed, telling Karl that "We have seen President Trump putting incredible pressure on Russia."

He pointed to new U.S. tariffs on India, which he said could pressure New Delhi, a major buyer of Russian oil, to press Moscow toward ending the conflict. He also cited Trump's decision to resume large-scale lethal weapons deliveries to Ukraine, funded by Europe but provided by the United States.

"This is all clear evidence that President Trump is absolutely adamant to bring this war to an end, but also to keep maximum pressure on Putin," Rutte said.

"Next Friday will be important because it is testing Putin, how serious he is in this whole process, which will then have to continue after Friday, with Ukrainian folks, with others involved, to bring this war to an end," he said.

Trump Suggests Plans to Privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Unleashing $30 Billion Market Shake-Up

President Donald Trump and his team are reportedly preparing to sell shares of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which are government-backed companies that support the housing market by making home loans more stable and affordable. This sale would be a significant move, potentially involving a large amount of stock, and could have a significant impact on the mortgage industry and the overall economy.

On Saturday, President Trump seemed to confirm The Wall Street Journal’s report that he intends to take Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac public by the end of this year. He shared an AI-generated image on Truth Social showing himself at the New York Stock Exchange, featuring the phrases “MAGA LISTED NYSE” and “The Great American Mortgage Corporation,” along with a date marked November 2025. However, the report also mentioned that the plan is still under consideration, with Trump exploring different possibilities. Still, the White House estimates that selling up to 15 percent of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s shares could generate around $30 billion, potentially making it the largest IPO ever.

During the 2008 financial crisis, both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac faced severe financial troubles and were placed under government conservatorship, meaning the federal government took control to keep them afloat. Since then, these companies have been essentially government-run, with the Treasury holding large stakes in them. Trump and his economic team are now looking to sell off some of the government’s shares in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, a process often called “privatization” or “stock sale.” The move is considered historic because it would mark a significant step toward returning these mortgage giants to private ownership after years under federal control. The goal would be to reduce government involvement in the housing finance system, potentially increase market efficiency, and raise significant revenue for the Treasury. Trump's plan would also aim to restructure how mortgages are handled in the U.S., balancing taxpayer risk and encouraging private investment.

Trump Proposes Sending Homeless ‘Far From the Capital’ as Part of Beautification Push
On any given night, there are 3,782 single persons experiencing homelessness in Washington, with most in emergency shelters or transitional housing.

President Donald Trump on Aug. 10 suggested removing homeless people from Washington to make the nation’s capital “safer and more beautiful than it ever was before.”

In a Sunday post on Truth Social, Trump shared several photos showing tents and garbage on the streets in areas around the capital, saying, “The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital.”
“The Criminals, you don’t have to move out,” Trump added. “We’re going to put you in jail where you belong. It’s all going to happen very fast, just like the Border.”

The president warned to “be prepared,” adding, “There will be no ‘MR. NICE GUY.’”

As of publication, the White House has not responded to a request for clarification on what legal mechanism Trump would use to evict homeless people from Washington, and where they would be sent afterward.

On any given night, there are 3,782 single persons experiencing homelessness in the nation’s capital, a city of roughly 700,000 people, according to the Community Partnership, an organization working to combat homelessness there. The organization says that while most of the homeless people are in transitional housing or emergency shelters, roughly 800 are without shelter.

Trump will host a press conference on homelessness, violent crime, and other issues from the White House on Monday at 10 a.m. ET but has not said if further details of his plan will be announced there.

Trump announced in a follow-up post on Truth Social that the suggestion is part of a larger push for beautification of the capital city, also targeting crime in Washington.

“The Press Conference on Crime and ‘Beautification’ will be held tomorrow ... and it will not only involve ending the Crime, Murder, and Death in our Nation’s Capital, but will also be about Cleanliness and the General Physical Renovation and Condition of our once beautiful and well maintained Capital,” he said.

Trump added that Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser “is a good person who has tried, but she has been given many chances, and the Crime Numbers get worse, and the City only gets dirtier and less attractive.”

“Before the tents, squalor, filth, and Crime, [Washington] was the most beautiful Capital in the World,” Trump wrote. “It will soon be that again.”

Trump has repeatedly criticized the crime level in Washington, recently pointing to the violent attack on a young former staffer of his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) last week during a carjacking attempt. He threatened to federalize the city if it didn’t “get its act together.”
“Crime in Washington, D.C., is totally out of control. Local ‘youths’ and gang members, some only 14, 15, and 16-years-old, are randomly attacking, mugging, maiming, and shooting innocent Citizens, at the same time knowing that they will be almost immediately released,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore.”

On Sunday, Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington, said the capital was “not experiencing a crime spike.”

“It is true that we had a terrible spike in crime in 2023, but this is not 2023,” Bowser said on MSNBC’s “The Weekend.” “We have spent over the last two years driving down violent crime in this city, driving it down to a 30-year low.”

Violent crime in the first seven months of 2025 dropped by 26 percent compared to 2024, and overall crime in Washington was down by roughly 7 percent, according to the city’s police department reports.

After meeting with the president several weeks ago in the Oval Office, Bowser said Trump is “very aware” of the city’s efforts with federal law enforcement.

Since establishing the district in 1790 with land from both Virginia and Maryland, Congress has controlled Washington’s budget, but residents vote to elect a city council and mayor.

Congress would likely need to pass a bill rescinding the law that created Washington’s local elected leadership for Trump to federalize the city. The president would then have to sign the bill into law.

However, Bowser noted on Sunday that Trump could call in the National Guard if he desired, similar to its recent deployment in Los Angeles following protests against federal immigration enforcement operations that turned into violent riots.

I still recall going to DC as a youth in the late 60's with my mother, much of the area was completely safe. As it should be since it is the Capitol and showplace of our country.

There were other areas that were pretty well known as no-go, even in the daytime. True of any major city.

Hopefully similar actions will take place in other major urban areas. Enough is enough.
