Never in my lifetime, maybe ever, have we had a President who loves to engage the press (hostile or friendly) and the average Joe like Trump. Truly heart warming to witness. Q

I can think of two others, plus two honorable mentions. 1. Teddy. I’ve read several biographies, and they all agree, once the brash rich kid learned his charm applied to everyone equally worked far better than snobbishness, he became political force to reckon with. 2. Lincoln. A part of the job back then was receiving lines of people visiting the White House. Lincoln would stand and shake hands and make small talk for hours. It’s remarkable no one before JWB tried to shoot him. HM: FDR. His whistle stops and fireside chats were how he reached the average Joe. Both were brilliant ideas given his physical limitations. HM 2: Ike, primarily his unique charm worked best with the men under his command. Plus he got to deal with politicians like Churchill and De Gaulle. ^^^^ Not sure if any of them experienced such overwhelmingly hostile press as Trump had. And still does. And, he seems to relish receiving whatever garbage they toss at him and hurl it right back without batting an eye. So fun to be eyewitness to history. Q

Reagan. The man won 44 states his first time out, 49 the second time. I don't recall how much engaging he did with the average Joes, but you don't win those numbers of states without the average Joes and Janes loving you. The media hated Reagan but they weren't as overt about it as they are today. Their hatred became more apparent when Iran-Contra happened. But there is no doubt Trump is a rare breed, very adept at working a crowd and dealing with the press. ---------------------------------- "These things you say we will have, we already have." Josey, that was my thought, too. Reagan was called the Great Communicator because he could speak so the common man could understand and get behind hkm. He could also handle the press pretty well through the first four or five years of his presidency, keeping them off balance to some degree like Trump does so well. I think you’re right that Iran Contra hurt but his age and the stress of the office wore on Reagan during the second term. With Trump being older now than Reagan was when he finished (I think!), I’m hoping President Trump will be able to keep up the pace through his entire term and leave us in a great position to continue with President Vance or someone similar on our side in 2029. *** "Aut viam inveniam aut faciam (I will either find a way or make one)." -- Hannibal Barca

Since Fauxi has been pardoned in the US, perhaps Mossad could offer him a free vacation to Israel where he could help with their inquiries into "gain of function research" and crimes against humanity. God Bless and Protect the Once and Future President, Donald John Trump.

Very gratifying seeing Melania engaged in her husbands presidency this time around. I felt she was totally disengaged during the first term and could have done without the entire affair. I think the raid on Mar A Lago and the attempted assassinations on her husband have energized her. Her revenge is to see her husband succeed in every way possible. She is more than a pretty face she is an intelligent woman. Her having the ear of the president is a very good thing. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

Trump's federal DEI purge puts hundreds on leave, saves taxpayers $420M By Brie Stimson | Fox News Published January 26, 2025 8:00am EST FIRST ON FOX: President Donald Trump’s executive order terminating all federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs has already sidelined 395 government bureaucrats, a senior administration official told Fox News Digital. Trump’s newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), headed up by Elon Musk, wrote on X Friday that approximately $420 million in current/impending contracts, mainly focused on DEI initiatives, had also been canceled. After Trump signed the order on the day of his inauguration, the federal Office of Personnel Management (OPM) notified heads of agencies and departments that they must begin taking steps to close all DEI offices by the end of the day Wednesday, and place government workers in those offices on paid leave. It is not yet clear when or if they will be terminated. Acting Director of the Office of Personnel Management Charles Ezell sent a memo to heads and acting heads of departments and agencies on Tuesday evening directing them that by the end of business on Jan. 22, they were to inform all agency employees of the DEI shutdown. In addition, they were instructed to tell workers directly involved in DEI they were being placed on paid leave immediately, take down all DEI-related websites and social media accounts, cancel any related contracts or training, and ask employees to report any efforts to disguise DEI programs by using coded or imprecise language. The memo also directed the heads of agencies and departments that by noon on Jan. 23, they were to provide OPM with lists of all DEI offices, employees, and related contracts in effect as of Nov. 5, 2024. By Friday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m., agency heads were required to submit to OPM a written plan for executing a reduction-in-force action regarding DEI employees and a list of all contract descriptions or personnel position descriptions that were changed since Nov. 5, 2024, to obscure their connection to DEI programs. The executive order was among dozens Trump signed on his first day in office, including the government only recognizing two genders and withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement. He also issued two other executive actions on Tuesday targeting DEI – an executive order to end discrimination in the workplace and higher education through race and sex-based preferences under the guise of DEI and a memo to eliminate a Biden administration policy that prioritized DEI hiring at the Federal Aviation Administration. Trump’s Monday executive order rescinded President Joe Biden’s one on promoting diversity initiatives, "Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government," which he signed on his first day in office. With the amount of sour grapes flooding the market the Wine industry is going to have rough year I think. Good grief all they do is piss and moan all day long. That's productive.

Unfortunately bureaucrats are typically just shifted to different positions. Those DEI employees, now with a different title but having their same mindset, will still be lurking around. I'm not sure what can be done about it though. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Something I have noticed but not seen mentioned is that PDJT does not wear sunglasses to hide his eyes when he is speaking to people or the press unlike the previous. I also noticed Melania removed her sunglasses when directly interacting with folks in the video above. They have nothing to hide from the people they serve!
