Where was the Supreme Court when numerous Democrat Administrations refused to enforce our immigration laws?

It may be time to pull an Andrew Jackson and enforce the laws on the books regardless of what the Supreme court decrees.

They are saying for the administration to wait for the 5th circuit of appeals to decide its case. Then SCOTUS will probably have to decide on appeal. And that SCOTUS decision may affirm Trump's position once and for all.

This is procedural and not based on merits. SCOTUS already ruled that the administration can deport MS13 gang members under the Alien Enemies act. I believe the Texas case is about whether or not Venezuelans can be deported to El Salvador, since El Salvador might hold them indefinitely without having committed any crimes in El Salvador.

Yup. The stupid game is still being played. Let's not act like this is final.

As to FJB refusing to enforce immigration laws, I don't recall any conservative groups suing them left and right to get it to the Court. You don't expect the Court to just make a ruling without a case presented to them, do you?

Procedural or not, it's another delay-tactic by those who want a "Fundamental Change" to our country, costing us time, money, and potentially, lives.

The moment I heard that Scalia died, I knew it could be the most momentous event of the next 100 years. Where would we be now if he was still on the court?

We are where we are, and that's that. Defend your case with what's you're dealt with. Playing the what if game gets you nowhere.

The Supreme Court sides with the Biden administration in a fight over immigration

https://www.npr.org/2023/06/23...t-ruling-immigration

The U.S. Supreme Court handed President Biden's administration a victory in a long-running fight about how to enforce the nation's immigration laws.

The case concerned the Biden administration's attempt to set guidelines for whom immigration authorities can target for arrest and deportation. Texas and Louisiana sued to block the guidelines, arguing that they were preventing immigration authorities from doing their jobs.

The Supreme Court held by a vote of 8-1 that the states lacked standing to challenge the guidelines in the first place.

Trump just appointed Mark Levin as a member of his Homeland Security Advisory Council.

Around 3 pm today my wife and I came upon a gathering of about 50 very older, all white people staging an anti-Trump/anti-Musk protest in the middle of our podunk little town here in Berks County, PA. We are midway between Reading, PA and Pottstown, PA and I’ve never ever seen this before.

Ask we drove by, I slowed down and while my wife face palmed and cringed I rolled my window down and shouted loudly “HOW MUCH DID THEY PAY YOU LOSERS TO BE HERE!!!” Big Grin

They were trying to re-live their protesting days from the 60's, one last stand, before the dirt nap.

Same scene in suburban Bucks, except far greater diversity in signs (end capitalism, no war for oil-- my personal favorite, because I'm not entirely sure where that's a "thing" right now-- and other brain-damaged crap.

I'm not sure who they were trying to convince, but it didn't seem to be working.

There was a protest in nearby Davenport, and the local media is of course treating it like a massive gathering. The paper said 800 attended but showed a photo with...eight. Gee, it's like the media is trying to convince uninformed voters that everyone hates Trump. Signs read "Stop tyranny," "fight oligarchy," and "Stop cuts in Social Security."

What cuts?? Never mind, no one has accused these people of original thinking.
