One guy is comforting an MS13 member, a U.S. illegal alien, a wife beater, a thug who has already been sentenced by his home justice system. And a real man who is comforting the mother of an innocent woman who was raped and brutally murdered by an illegal alien. ![]() "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

BigSwede, I don’t recall saying that back then; but I did sign the Great Barrington Declaration, which in retrospect put me on the side of the good guys like Dr. Jay Bhattachariya, now the director of NIH. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

That's a shame. Confidence in Congressional Democrats hits all time low (25%) in new Gallup poll By Paul Steinhauser | Fox News Published April 18, 2025 11:08am EDT Confidence in the Democratic Party's congressional leadership has sunk to an all-time low, according to a new national poll. The confidence rating for Democratic leadership in Congress stands at 25% in a Gallup poll conducted April 1-14 and released on Thursday. That's nine points below the previous low of 34%, which was recorded in 2023. According to Gallup, confidence in Republican congressional leadership stands at 39%, which is well above the 24% low hit in 2014. Fueling the drop in confidence in the Democratic congressional leadership were Democrats. "Democratic congressional leaders’ rating among their own party faithful has fallen 41 points since last year to their lowest point ever," Gallup noted in its release. The Democratic Party is in the political wilderness, following last November's election setbacks, when Republicans won back control of the White House and the Senate, and defended their fragile House majority. And Republicans made gains among Black and Hispanic voters, as well as younger voters, all traditional members of the Democratic Party's base. Democrats have become increasingly angry and energized in response to President Donald Trump's aggressive and controversial moves, since returning to the White House three months ago, in slashing the federal government and upending longstanding national policies. That anger is directed not only at Trump and Republicans, but also at Democrats. Many in the party's base feel their leaders in Congress haven't been effective or vocal enough in pushing back against the president. And the energy has been evident at town halls this winter and early spring held by both Democratic and Republican members of Congress. National polls conducted in February by Quinnpiac University, and last month by CNN and by NBC News, indicated the favorable ratings for the Democratic Party sinking to all-time lows. Q

That bitch is simply crazy! Just one more example why I never leave home without a firearm on me...
I was thinking the same thing. I was also trying to decide how I would handle it if that were me or my wife that she came after. I'm just not sure, but hopefully I would simply call the cops... ____________________________ Bill R. Judge pauses Trump administration’s plans for mass layoffs at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump ‘s attempt to fire nearly everyone at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was paused on Friday by a federal judge, who said she was “deeply concerned” about the plan and issued an order warning that administration officials appeared to be “thumbing their nose” at the courts. The decision leaves in limbo a bureau created after the Great Recession to safeguard against fraud, abuse and deceptive practices. Trump administration officials argue that it has overstepped its authority and should have a more limited mission. On Thursday, the administration officials moved to fire roughly 1,500 people, leaving around 200 employees, through a reduction in force that would dramatically downsize the bureau. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said she was worried the layoffs would violate earlier court decisions. In her written order, she said the administration was poised to “decimate the agency and render it unable to comply with its statutory duties.” If the plan were allowed to proceed, “there will be no agency standing” by the time she renders a decision on an earlier lawsuit filed by an employee union that wants to preserve the bureau. Her harsh language is the latest example of friction between the executive and judicial branches, which has increased as Trump aggressively flexes his presidential power. https://apnews.com/article/tru...043fc2ac58b660c3847d

Why Gary Shapley Won't Be Acting Commissioner of the IRS https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...-of-the-irs-n2655767 Gary Shapley was tapped to become the next acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service. It comes after the resignation of Melanie Krause, the outgoing acting commissioner who resigned following the agency agreed to share illegal alien taxpayer information with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Shapley, along with Joe Zeigler, were the two IRS agents who testified before Congress about how the Biden Justice Department interfered incessantly into their investigations into Hunter Biden. Well, it looks like the search for an acting commissioner begins anew as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent torpedoed Shapley’s confirmation, noting that he was never informed of this appointment. It’s typical Washington jockeying and palace intrigue (via NYT): The acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service is being replaced after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent complained to President Trump that the latest leader of the agency had been installed without his knowledge and at the behest of billionaire Elon Musk, according to five people with knowledge of the change and the sensitive discussions that precipitated it. Mr. Bessent believed that Mr. Musk had done an end run around him to get Gary Shapley installed as the interim head of the I.R.S., even though the tax collection agency reports to Mr. Bessent. Mr. Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency pushed the appointment through White House channels, but Mr. Bessent was not consulted or asked for his blessing, the people said. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the private conversations. Mr. Bessent got Mr. Trump’s approval to unwind the decision. The next acting head of the I.R.S., which has seen a conveyor belt of temporary leaders under Mr. Trump, is expected to be the deputy secretary of the Treasury, Michael Faulkender. He would hold the role until the president’s nominee for the permanent role, former congressman Billy Long, if approved by the Senate, takes over. Mr. Shapley, a longtime I.R.S. agent, was lauded by conservatives after he publicly argued that the Justice Department had slow-walked its investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes. […] The I.R.S. declined to comment. The clash was the latest instance of Mr. Musk’s influence in the Trump administration alarming top officials, and has deepened the turmoil that has engulfed the I.R.S. The agency has been under pressure from Mr. Trump to revoke Harvard University’s tax-exempt status, an attempt to politicize the agency that has deeply troubled current and former officials. _________________________

I am too old to reflexively start recording video on my phone - forgot to do it various times in the past few years. But that is the first thing to do, make sure they know they are on camera. In some cases, that might be enough to get them to back off. Then immediately call 911 and report an unstable person who is making threats and may become violent.

I am certain that DOGE used keyboard and login tracking to see which government employees were not actually working. This is something that all corporate IT systems have available. I am going to venture a guess that a LOT of people were not working much. If you get rid of the non-workers, there will be no real effect on the organization. I'm pretty sure Musk did this at X because it works the same as before with a lot fewer people.
