Before I retired I used to deliver large amounts of money to the main Post Office in Chicago everyday.
I was appalled every time I walked through the facility.
Every piece of equipment through out the facility that had a seat mounted to it had a postal worker sitting or laying on it sleeping, no effort at all to hide it.
I was told by workers that the main post office is the last stop for workers before retirement so they can just take it easy. Most workers there were at least 20 years in. Most all said they would NOT retire because they had it so easy and were making so much easy money. They all were friends and it seemed like they just came there everyday to hang out.

I used to stand and wait at the registered mail counter while looking across at workers that just sat and looked back at me,no effort at all to check in my shipment. I had supervisors eventually come over in disgust and do there work, obviously helpless to make there employees do anything.
Don't even think you will get service if you show up within an hour of quitting time.
I witnessed this everyday.

For about 6 months I watched them construct a huge processing machine to sort mail. Finally it was finished and after a few weeks it was no longer working and sat unused. Then, I watched the huge machines be taken down. I asked a worked what happened, he replied it was going to take too many workers jobs so they sabotaged it.

I lost all respect for that organization after my experiences there.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley on Friday sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, allegedly revealing that the bureau listened in on cellphone conversations between President Donald Trump and his former Vice President Mike Pence.

The revelation was unveiled in legally protected whistleblower disclosures from Grassley and Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson, and was part of the FBI's Arctic Frost investigation.

“Sunshine is the best disinfectant,” the chairmen wrote to Bondi and Patel. “The American people deserve to know the complete extent of the corruption within the DOJ and FBI that led to the investigation into President Trump.

"We are making this information public for purposes of public accountability and to provide specific examples of past behavior at your institutions that must not be repeated," they continued. "Quite simply, the public has a right to know what happened in Arctic Frost and, based on what we’ve exposed to date, the American public deserves better from its law enforcement agencies."

Grassley provided an overview of the records in his opening statement during the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing on Kash Patel’s nomination to be FBI Director. Excerpts from Grassley’s opening statement follow:

“In my hand are a series of FBI emails.

“The first is an email that Thibault sent to a subordinate agent on February 14, 2022.

“He said, ‘Here is draft opening language we discussed.’ The draft opening was attached, and it included material that would later become part of Jack Smith’s elector case.

“The second email is a February 24, 2022, email from Thibault to John Crabb, a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, saying, ‘I had a discussion with the case team and we believe there to be predication to include former President of the United States Donald J. Trump as a predicated subject.’ This FBI case would later be codenamed Arctic Frost.

“The third email is a February 24, 2022, email from Thibault to John Crabb noting that Attorney General and FBI Director approval will be sought to open the case.

“The fourth email is a February 25, 2022, email from Thibault’s subordinate agents saying they added Trump, and others, as a criminal subject to the case. Thibault responded ‘Perfect.’

“The fifth email is a March 22, 2022, email from Thibault emailing a version of an investigative opening for approval. This didn’t include President Trump as a criminal subject.

“The sixth email is an April 11, 2022, email from Thibault approving the opening of Arctic Frost.

“The seventh email is an April 13, 2022, email from an FBI agent to Thibault stating that the FBI Deputy Director approved its opening.

“The eighth email on that same date had Thibault emailing John Crabb that the elector case was approved. Crabb responded, ‘Thanks a lot. Let’s talk next week.’

“Between March 22 and April 13, other versions of the document opening the investigation existed, because a ninth email shows that the FBI General Counsel’s office made edits on March 25.

“Was Trump still removed as an investigative subject? If so, which Justice Department and FBI officials – other than Jack Smith – later added him for prosecution?

“I expect the production of all records on this matter to better understand the full fact pattern and whether other records exist.”

An appeals court on Friday lifted a block on President Donald Trump's executive orders ending federal support for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.

A panel of three judges ruled the orders can be enforced during a pending lawsuit, reversing a nationwide injunction from U.S. District Judge Adam Abelson in Baltimore, the Associated Press reported.

Two of the judges on the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the orders "could raise concerns" about First Amendment rights, but found Abelson's "sweeping block went too far," according to the report.

Abelson, a Biden nominee, previously ruled the orders violated the First Amendment right to free speech and were unconstitutionally "vague," as they did not define DEI.

The ruling followed a lawsuit filed by the City of Baltimore, the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, the American Association of University Professors and the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United, which alleged the executive orders were presidential overreach and anti-free speech.

They argued the president's power "is not limitless."

Trump's orders directed federal agencies to terminate all "equity-related" grants or contracts, and required federal contractors to certify that they don’t promote DEI.

The administration argued in court that the ban only affected DEI programs violating federal civil rights laws.

"What’s happening is an overcorrection and pulling back on DEI statements," attorney Aleshadye Getachew said in a hearing.

While the president secured a win with the latest injunction, a similar federal lawsuit was filed in D.C. U.S. District Court on Wednesday challenging DEI executive orders including: "Ending Radical and Wasteful DEI Programs and Preferencing;" "Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government;" and "Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity."

The second complaint was filed by NAACP Legal Defense Fund and Lambda Legal on behalf of nonprofit advocacy organizations.

White House spokesman Harrison Fields told the New York Times that "the radical leftists can either choose to swim against the tide and reject the overwhelming will of the people, or they can get on board and work with President Trump to advance his wildly popular agenda."

This is the way to do it. Make it permanent to continue to keep the government from running out of control. I never understood the "one-time" deal that DOGE is supposed to operate under. After that, then what? Let the parasites multiply again?

Trump allies mount campaign to get DOGE codified by Congress

FIRST ON FOX: A group of President Donald Trump's House GOP allies is leading a bill that would enshrine the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its efficiency efforts in federal law, giving it some protection from various legal challenges over the next year and a half.

"This creates a reporting structure that allows what DOGE is doing with the Cabinet to be relayed to Congress, which is our Article I authorities, which is really the idea of being good stewards of taxpayer funding," Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who is leading the bill, told Fox News Digital in an interview.

The legislation more generally codifies Trump's executive order directing Cabinet secretaries and heads of other executive offices to coordinate with DOGE on various government efficiency plans.

It would give Elon Musk and DOGE Acting Administrator Amy Gleason more standing to implement various cuts within the federal government, as part of Trump's plan to cut federal waste.

"What Elon has done is that he's created kind of this algorithm that works in the background, that sifts through all of these different programs, 24 hours a day, to look at anomalies and how they're being utilized, to go ahead and say, ‘Hey, is this something for analysis? Is this something that we need to take a look at?’" Mills said. "That's really what this is — it's about modernizing and maximizing."

The legislation is co-sponsored by House DOGE Caucus co-chair Aaron Bean, R-Fla., of which Mills is also a part.

Reps. Byron Donalds, R-Fla.; Barry Moore, R-Ala.; and Michael Rulli, R-Ohio, are also helping lead the bill.

If passed, such a bill would likely help shield DOGE from Democratic efforts to block it from gathering federal government data.

Musk and DOGE were recently ordered to turn over a broad array of records by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan in response to a lawsuit by more than a dozen Democratic attorneys general.

Her point was cogent, logical, and factual but Bill's response is:

"At least that's an answer."

He is either a coward for not allowing she is correct - or at least that her analysis and point are valid, or he still has enough TDS to not recognize what is right and true.

Well that's handy, because I didn't fucking ask you. I worked in shipping for years and have boxed up more packages than your average person will in a lifetime, so you can jam your commentary. It was one of those "I'm running out the door" and my wife decided to tack on a favor while I was grabbing my keys and I told her they wouldn't take it like that, as I said in the first place. If you can't read, I don't know what to tell you. I have pretty thick skin, but if you're gonna take swings at my wife, I'm gonna swing back.

Back on topic, regarding that video with bill Maher, that lady has it right. I'm in the process of starting a small business and the big thing in addition to all the legal stuff involved is tackling the "race to the bottom." I call it the Etsy model: You have a bunch of people all doing the same thing, and they're competing downwards and trying to compete for business by selling for cheaper than everyone else instead of offering something different or better. We can't fundamentally change certain basic things like her examples of lumber, steel, and aluminum aside from guaranteeing quality. What we can do is tariff these imports until our industries can compete. I haven't heard a great argument against it, and I'm willing to go through some hardship if the end goal is coming out on the other side of it with a much stronger nation, not just an economy that's buoyed by the stock market and guys trading properties. I don't think it particularly matters what Maher had to say after that, the audience heard what they recognized as the truth and applauded. If nationalism is merely doing sensical things that most benefit our nation and the citizenry, then explaining it in clear terms that anyone can agree with on national prime time television is a win in a time when we're being painted as the Sturmabteilung incarnate.

I realize the Bill Maher video was just a clip so I don't know how extensive the conversation was. However people need to understand that not only does China have high tariffs for US imported products, but they insist that any products sold there over a certain volume MUST be manufactured in China, using Chinese labor and resources.

A brilliant strategy on their part as we are educating their engineers and manufacturing force to produce our products themselves. They then sell those products back to us with little or no tariff.
