Of course it is, and for the same reason as slaughtering other animals to this day: to supply commercial markets with food. Until the mean old government passed laws limiting hunting (call it “harvesting” if you like) wildlife for commercial purposes, many animals were killed by various means (not only shooting) nearly to the point of extinction—or beyond (e.g., the passenger pigeon). ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans ….
