I can say without hesitation that here in Idaho we LIKE our police. We SUPPORT our police. And we let them know it.

Around here BLM means Bureau of Land Management.

Thanks,

Sap

I can second that!

My folks moved to Idaho 15 years ago and my father tells me how the Idaho Statesman regularly prints articles questioning the police and their use of force. He also tells me that when they do, the Letters to the Editor section is full of folks writing in and telling the editorial staff to pound sand. I love it!

Of all the enemies the American citizen faces, the Democrat Party is the very worst.

It's like that here, too. OKC and Tulsa have large, dangerous parts of town. We just have dangerous individuals in my city. That said, 99% of our folks treat us very well. Our pop. is about 55k and every week, sometimes several times a week, a citizen drops off food for the patrolmen. Every fourth of fifth time I eat lunch in public, someone surreptitiously pays for my meal (I always pay it forward with a tip in the amount the bill would have been).

A lot of us are lucky to work/live where we do.

My brother was a very senior LEO when he retired.

His position now is that he would not do it again.

Between the idiots who use their positions on LSM TV to denigrate all police officers whenever possible, and senior LEO officials looking for their name up in lights, it rapidly gets to be an unworkable situation.

JLJones, consider yourself lucky!
It seems the prevaling attitude up here is the same where Chongo is.
Sure, I do get a lot of "Hey Officer, Thank you for what you do." up here, but then again, being downtown changes things. A lot of it is said in an out of town accent. I know what it's like on the south and west side of town, ans it's getting worse. Our bosses & city hall keeps trying this "Crime is down" mantra, and figure if they say it enough, people will believe it. Crime is on the increase here, the media covers it in the first 5 min. Rahm said it a while back; Fetal... gee, I wonder why... We get thrown under the bus for political reasons in a heartbeat.

One day the pendlum will swing back. I just hope it's within the next 5 years or so. That's about all I have left till I get to pull the pin.

Yeah they stole the meaning of the acronym. I could think of another acronym, but that would probably not be politically correct.
