So I got the candy and we are ready and wife tells me she heard/read that other local towns are postponing Halloween trick or treating times to tomorrow because we have a couple inches of snow but she is not sure about our town yet.

Are you kidding me? Postponing Halloween over a little bit of snow. Well I got other stuff to do tomorrow and it won't be waiting around for fair weather trick or treating. Looks like I might have a lot of left over candy to eat. Big Grin

Yep, ours is postponed until Saturday.

A coworker who lives down across the border in Lake county says theirs is still on for tonight, from 4-7.

Sounds like my town must have postponed too. No one here yet and the streets/sidewalks, though clear, are deserted. Roll Eyes

The kids are tougher in Bettendorf IA; Ours in going on as scheduled starting at 5PM.

We got the snow (4-5") last night, it's now sunny but windy and chilly (about 30).

You're damn right. If these kids want their handouts they are going to have to get out and earn it. Imagine that? Postpone it until next year if it's too cold, windy, or snowy then. Hell, around here we've practically got to browbeat them to even hear "trick or treat". They just stand at the front door, vessels agape, waiting...poor parenting...never mind a thank you...

Lessee... It's 41°F. Wind 11 MPH and gusting. Temp feels like 34°F. There's a wind advisory for winds of 20-25 MPH, gusting to 45 MPH. It's precipitating anywhere from drizzle to light rain.

I saw one woman with a small child, and a couple other women with a couple small children.

Good thing we didn't buy any candy.

It is the low 40's with 20 mph winds.
We have had 13 so far. That is many more than years past.

Tonight is Halloween, you don't postpone it.

I heard about that this morning on the Philly morning radio. I just about spit out my whiskey.

Postponed? Due to rain? Such a thing would've been unimaginable when I was a youngster trick-or-treating.

Ours was postponed until Friday due to rain and high winds. It hasn't rained all afternoon or evening today (Halloween).

I don't know about here. I'm ready but there have not been any kids yet. It's dark out, so I'd have thought they'd be going around. I do have some pumpkins outside so I should be easy to hit. However, since I don't have any kids of my own, I'm not "up" on what goes on in the neighborhood.

We had maybe 30 trick or treaters, about half what is normal. All quiet now.

I just had a real live genuine trick or treater! We live in a rural area, at least acre lots and no sidewalks. It’s pouring rain. I always buy candy but no one ever comes.

Tonight a lil guy came through soaking wet. Made my night but I felt bad for him. I don’t think he’s gonna get much candy since people around me are not used to it but I gave him a bunch.

Well, it's after 1930 here and I've heard nothing outside (even if they don't come to the door I can usually hear SOMETHING). I looked out on the street and there are no lights on and no kids about. Either they've decided to do a different day (probably earlier in the week when I'm not home) or they're doing other things on Hallowe'en.

Not a single ghoul knocking on the door here but it’s been raining for hours. Looks like we’ll have candy in the house for a couple months.
