Please don't respond to this thread with "Who?" or state that we should just ignore him because he's not important. Thank you

Kanye West, after comparing himself to Jesus and Hitler, apologizes in Hebrew for antisemitic remarks

The guy is genuinely crazy, just a rambling, annoying douchebag, and I don't care how much musical talent he may have; in my book, he qualifies as truly stupid. It seems he thinks himself to be profound, but he's a fool.

I’m shocked by the influence he has over people. People actually listen to him, and follow his actions. It’s scary, really.

As far as talent, I listen to some of hip-hop or rap, not a lot, but probably more than the average sigforum member. Kanye isn’t that good in my opinion. He has a couple songs I like (and own), but that’s it.

As to what you originally stated, yes, he is full blown, bonafide, bat-shit crazy. The elevator doesn’t go to the top anymore.
I don’t think it was drug use either. As far as I know, which isn’t much, he’s never been hardcore into drugs.
He has God given mental illness… and he is followed by millions.
Oh, and the Yeezy shoes? They’re wicked expensive and ugly and a pitbull licking piss off a thistle. $400-$2k for some mediocre tennis shoes, that have morphed into some crock-like thing.

You see this with artists and politicians…anyone with a bit of money and power.

They surround themselves with a posse of yes men…and eventually start believing their shit as gospel.

Then they degrade into crazy ideas and thoughts that become their reality because they are pumped full of yes.

But, in fact, they are disengaging from true reality.

This is not news. He’s always been crazy. And I have no idea what he is famous for, just like the crazy ass kardashians.

Are you under the impression that this is the first time I've noticed this about the guy? Do you think that this is "news" to me? Have you considered the possibility that I take note of his recent behavior as a particularly bizarre and egregious example of the man's insanity?

I have and will NEVER understand the attention span of those born a mere 25 (or maybe a few more) years ago. Or what they deem as "reality". Here's a hint...I haven't thought about Mr. West until I read his name this morning in this thread title. THAT...is how much I pay attention to him and how LITTLE influence he has over my day-to-day thinking and activity.

Legend in his own mind.....he needs to fade into obscurity with about 10,000 other "celebrity" idiots of his ilk that do nothing but exchange CO2 into O2. JSMH...

Even beyond the "eccentric/narcissistic celebrity" stereotype, he has genuine mental illness issues, including bipolar (manic-depressive) which he himself disclosed, plus who knows what other diagnoses.

It makes sense that many of his crazy/stupid/weird decisions and statements were likely made in the midst of manic episodes.

And he was a member of the Kardashian family for several years. No man survives years with that family without some mental illness.

My comment was made along the lines of "this is a waste of electrons". more important things to read about today.

By ignoring my request, you did exactly- EXACTLY- what I asked to to not do. Read my posts and comprehend them before responding. Why do you think I bothered to begin my post by anticipating this kind of shit? Figure it out.

It was gratifying to me listening to my son & daughter’s friends discussing music; KW is somewhere between mocked and irrelevant for the 16-20 year old crowd. It’s amusing watching his supposed “musical genius” eclipsed by his stupidity. Always satisfying to watch dumb people eaten by their actions.

There's a lot of crazy, nutty people in this world, he's declared himself a prophet, a genius, a gift to humanity, an oracle of style and art, he gave himself his own nickname...and then there's the people who follow him. I don't get it, there's people who willfully follow this guy, buy his work, even throw everything away to work for him. I was at a company where he came and took a tour, with his entourage of course. A month later, several employees, mainly in marketing and design, left their current positions to go work for his company. It's like the Pied Piper of the outrageous, and people think that's ok.

Seems Michael Jackson and Prince were similarly crazy - watch Kevin Smith's piece on his Prince interview - but both of them were very shy and avoiding making public speeches.

If Kanye truly has bipolar disorder, then that explains some of it. When they are in a manic state they can get pretty crazy, although not nearly as detached from reality as a Schizophrenic. My sister was diagnosed bipolar and a few years later caused her own death by deliberately neglecting to properly care for her diabetes. Going through her stuff and all the writings we found showed how crazy she was. But she had no public forum for it, unlike Kanye.

But he does have a narcissistic streak, and Cluster-B personality disorders (Narcissist, Borderline, Histrionic, Anti-Social) often get misdiagnosed as bipolar.

On the other hand his support of Trump and potential to pull votes in the right direction through his popularity is something to keep in mind.
