Congratulations.

Stay Cool - literally! Keep the corn and peas working.

Do not lift anything heavier than a beer.

Glad to hear yours went well. Mine (long ago) had a little glitch. The doc was anxious to get started (probably had an important golf game scheduled). He started to cut before the I was totally numb. We fixed that real fast.

Had mine 12/29/18, just got the all clear yesterday. Yes, four months! I blame it on my toxic masculinity.

I got myself cut after two munchkins. The job went well until the doc ripped the tape off my chest she used to hold my bazooka out of the way. (Bazooka, her word)

Later at home not only sore boys, but a real bad case of explosive tail gunning.......er.. running.

Had mine done last July. The doc taped my big guy to my stomach to keep it out of the way. Taking the tape off was worse than the surgery. Eek

^^^^^^^^^^Thanks for that Para. Had a long, crappy day at work and that made my day!

And, a timely thread. Wife had a medical issue that requires she discontinue birth control. We are having discussions to find another solution. Not sure I can/will go thru with the surgery....Always told my wife, SigForum has the most knowledge on the Net.....

It's not a big deal, wish I had done it sooner.

Ditto. The idea of it is so much worse than the procedure. Once it was done I was wishing I would've done it sooner.

Gettin mine as soon as I get back from vacation. We lost a pregnancy this year and I don’t want to have to go through that again. Easier for me to get snipped.

Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

Be careful I was still shooting live ammo for months after. I was supposed to get checked and I ignored it, got checked months later and was still fertile.

One of the best things I ever did after having 2 great healthy kids.
No regrets.

Has nothing to do with being afraid of the blade or being less manly ...

Everything still works the same as it did before.
Just less paranoia and wondering if she took her pill...

Take it easy for a couple days, keep a few bags of frozen peas in the freezer to rotate on gonad soothing.

Congrats, you're now like a lifetime pass at Disney World.
29 years ago I joined that club, stopped for ise cream with the kids on the way home, 0.0 complications and it is NOT acceptable to offer to show anyone your vasectomy scar!

I've been shooting blanks for 39 years... never regretted it. In fact the was the last time I actually had a doctor work on me until 3 weeks ago. Then they worked in the same area... running a stint up into my heart to open the artery that was completely blocked. The vasetamey was easier, painful for a few days but still a lot easier.

Like the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders.

Thank God for modern medicine. Teddy Roosevelt would have had no idea of the cost of kids in 2019.

Friend of mine kept saying he was going to see the urologist but before he did the young hot girlfriend got pregnant. Now with three grown boys in college he’s become a 50 year old man with a baby on the way. Traumatic change to his retirement plans.

Don’t wait too long Wink
