Well after two kids it was time to get cut. Today was the day and it took maybe 15 minutes. The procedure was painless. The boys are sore and have been on ice all day. We shall see how the weekend goes but so far so good.

Get a jock strap and take your meds. Should be good to go back to work Monday.

Do exactly what the doc said, exactly.

My dad felt better on Saturday and by Sunday he had to go to the ER because he lifted something more than a few pounds.

I’m not sure what you mean by going back to work.

If and when your two kids grow up and make you proud, there's a very good chance you'll wish you had more. That's what my Dad says all the time, but I don't think he felt that way when we were kids. Wink

I did the jock strap...... for a day at work. I had more swelling on one side and it was extremely painful with the jock. The next day, I wore 2 pair of underwear (boxer briefs), which is what the doc told me to do originally. Much more comfortable. Just another option for you. Keep the ice and enjoy time on the couch this weekend.

Thanks all I bought one size smaller boxer briefs and they are doing a great job. Frozen corn packs from Sam's club and I plan on resting all weekend. The wife took the kids to the grandparents so I have the place to myself.

Frozen peas and corn are your friends!
I was able to rotate between bags of corn, peas and the occasional cold beer between my legs.

Hopefully you had a Doc with small hands. Wink

A scalpel near my scrotum? Hell no. You want to jostle my jimmies, you got to pay.

I'm imagining trying to describe vasectomy to somebody like, say, Anse Hatfield. Maybe Teddy Roosevelt.

I got mine done and days one and two postop were fine. Day three hurt the most. Day four was only slightly better. Then suddenly day five was mostly fine.

I had the no needle one. It was great. Over quick. Barely felt a thing. Again, until that third say....

Glad to have it over with tho

Ouch. And don't eat the peas when you are healed. Best decision I made. Never have to worry again. My doc lets you bring in a sample annually to check for swimmers.

On the subject of nookie. Isn’t there supposed to be a check to ensure your only shooting blanks?

Nope, and hell nope.

No one gets to bring anything sharp near my twig and berries. My rod and tackle fire live rounds and I'm fine with that.

Mine was four years ago. They require a sample at two months, four months and six months. You’re supposed to use protection for up to six months.

Yes, many skip it though.

Each doc has different methods, mine wanted a sample after 3 months.

My doc did scalpeless. There was air injection of numbing meds. Honestly worst part was the akward conversation. I get he was attempting bedside banter, but really wasn't there for that. In and out in 18 mins. Spent Friday afternoon and Saturday in bed watching TV. Other than jock strap and meds, I don't recall using any ice packs. Sunday I moved around more. Monday I was back at work. Wore the jock for a week.

Very slight sensation of being racked for a few hours on Friday.

My doc said wait 2 weeks on sex. Others say do it when you feel capable.

My experience was WAY better than I expected.

I'm probably not a real man like most of you guys but it is a piece of cake. And yes, you are not shooting blanks for a while. As I remember, it took a certain number of "discharges" before you were safe and some of the lucky guys became fathers once more by trying to rush things. It takes "discharges" and time and a lab check to make sure you are"safe". Want another kid? Just dive right in! But the reason you got the procedure in the first place was to avoid it so I would think it would be good to be cautious.

I hope that works out for you. Shit does, in fact, happen. People forget their pill, love gloves rip. There are quite a few things that can cause unexpected pregnancy. I watched my whole surgery. It wasn't bad and was actually pretty interesting.
