Thermoworks. I’d wait for one of their frequent sales. Fair warning: I started with their Thermapen, then their Signals four channel WiFi unit for the smoker, then an infrared thermometer for the griddle. It was over a period of 8 years though. Each was one of those things where I fought spending the money as long as I could, then when I finally did, I wondered why I waited so long.

I use Inkbird, this one and really like it. It connects 2.4ghz and 5ghz on WiFi and Bluetooth on phone. I can run to the store and see what's happening with meat and grill temp. Hray

That'll work.

I'm not a chef and I don't barbeque or run a smoker so basic is fine.

Thanks!

I've got this one, which looks to be on sale for $50
https://www.thermoworks.com/smoke/

I think I got mine on the same deal a couple years ago.
Originally got it for a smoker I was given, but haven't had the time to learn to use.
Has been used a couple times for Thanksgiving turkeys in the oven & works great!

What are you looking for?

Like a quick read you stick into a chicken breast on the grill? Or something you set up in a smoker doing a brisket?

I have one of these for the former and it works well:

ThermoPro Digital TP03B Instant Read Meat Thermometer

Ordered a ThermoWorks stab-it-and-wait-a-second unit. Just an occasional need to check a boiling chicken and such.

This, Meater is much better than Thermoworks Smoke, too many pieces you need to connect it to a phone for remote monitoring. Otherwise it's only good for a few yards of BT connectivity around the house. You need the wifi connector and it's not really reliable.

Thermopen for checking temps by hand.

I use a thermopop for instant checks (3-4 seconds) and thermoworks probes for frying or smoking.

Big Grin

1. Perfect bland food for tender tummies.
2. Chicken stock for multiple uses.
3. Chicken Wraps (sort of like a chicken burrito)
4. Chicken Soup.
5. Ingredient for Rappie Pie

Hey Mr. Paul, I was going to suggest you purchase it from the Thermoworks site to be sure you have warranty coverage. I'm not sure who all sells them on Amazon and how easy it is to deal w/ them.

I ordered one of their $60 Timestack timers and the "4" button didn't work. I called Thermoworks on a Saturday and the nice gentleman looked up the order and told me another one is on the way.
I asked if they wanted the first one back (I see refurbished stuff from companies all the time) and he told me to keep it.

So now I have two stuck to my fridge. One just won't set time to anything w/ a 4 in it. Smile

So of about a dozen items I've bought from Thermoworks, I've been real happy.
Half have been Thermapens and Thermopops for gifts. I use my own Thermopop more than I use my Thermapen.
Anyway, you're gonna love it and maybe find more uses for it.
My newlywed niece used hers to make candy. Hot stuff on the stove.

This is my kit and it’s great. The Meater does a great job predicting when things should come off so they coast up to their final temperature with residual heat (carryover). And being wireless is great if you ever cook on a rotisserie.

I absolutely recommend the Thermoworks Thermapen One Here I use it daily. I had their older one that took a whole 3 seconds for a reading and gifted it to my mom when I got this one. Excellent product in the price point you are looking for.
