Ritz and Keebler Townhouse crackers have long been my favorite. But the recommendations in Arc’s Triscuit thread:

inspired me to try some others:

Some objective data:

The weight of 10 crackers (I weighed 10 to get a good average weight):
Chicken in a Biskit – 26.3g
Club – 35.2g
Ritz – 33.9g
Townhouse – 30.8g
Triscuit – 45.6g

Fat content (from box data):
Club – Fat/g: 3/14 = 0.214
Ritz – Fat/g: 4.5/16 = 0.281
Townhouse – Fat/g: 5/16 = 0.312
Triscuits – Fat/g: 3.5/28 = 0.125

Packaging:

Partners – Loose in a bag in the box.

Kellogg Club Crackers – Like the Ritz and Townhouse crackers, there are several neatly stacked stay-fresh sleeves per box. And, with their rectangular shape, they store very compactly.

Triscuits – Loose in a bag in the box, but there are few broken crackers – often a problem with other loose all-in-one-bag crackers. As Arc said, they have good structural integrity. They’re big crackers (4.56g ea).

Chicken in a Biskit – Loose in a bag in the box. Quite a few broken crackers. Rather small crackers (only 2.63g ea).

Some subjective data – mostly flavor, best analyzed by eating a cracker by itself (and paying attention to the after-taste):

Chicken in a Biskit – Tasty, but at 2.63g ea they’re too small for my most common use. *2

Kellogg Club Crackers – I expected these to taste similar to my current favorites (Ritz and Townhouse). And they do, but they’re even better (more savory). Quite a surprise, considering their lower fat content. Generally speaking, fat is flavor.

Triscuits – Very tasty, in an entirely different way than the Kellogg Club. And marvelously crunchy!

Bottom line: I’ll be buying the Kellogg Club crackers rather than the Ritz and Townhouse Crackers. And Triscuits too, to eat by themselves.

*2 – My usual way of eating crackers is a bit “different”. I have them as an after-supper treat. I put several crackers out. Then I put dab of peanut butter and a dab of Marmite on a cracker, pop it into my mouth and chew. Tastes soooo good to me!

Please try the Crunchmaster Multi Seed crackers. The most flavor of any cracker.

1. Toasteds Onion flavor - they're hard to find (always sold out) just a hint of onion - YUM!

2. Club crackers - my only complaint with Club crackers is that I wish they were a little more sturdy for dipping.

I tried Carr's Table Water crackers long ago. I didn’t particularly like their flavor. That’s just personal preference, but objectively they’re too big for me to comfortably put a whole one in my mouth. If I bite off a piece, then broken pieces and crumbs. So not for me.

Dare might be an alternative. I've been using Dare over Carr's, Ritz, etc.

For a healthy (but perhaps less tasty version), I also use Wasa.

But I usually use the crackers for cheese.....

My fav is the Club. I always thought they were made by Keebler’s. Just looked, says Kellogg’s now.

Try Mary's Gone Crackers if you like crispy crackers. I get them at Costco. They are great.

Another big favorite is Keebler Flipsides, now branded as Kellogg.

Very interesting, Pipe Smoker. My daughter's FIL is an executive baker for Kellogs/Keebler. I'll share your observations next time we meet. Always fun to meet in Battle Creek.

related to 'crackers' I recently was served as a small appetizer of other crackers & a cheese plate, while waiting for some wine-tasting friends to determine their choice: a very, very thin Italian 'cracker', more like a thin biscuit dough rolled out about 6" around, with a slight bit of rosemary or other herb across the top. More like the very crust on the top of the biscuit, no bread like interior.

And you had to break off your own piece, producing other smaller messes to deal with.

Taste sensation, absolute unexpected pleasure, it was with a few Ritz, herbal triscut, oyster crackers & a few bits of cheese.

Have been unable to identity for further study.

I'm primarily a saltines guy. I went to Zesta when Nabisco was bought out by R. J. Reynolds (I hate tobacco and didn't want to support them). I eat saltine crackers in several ways:
1. crumbled in soups or chili
2. spred with peanut butter (between two)
3. with a quarter slice of bologna and yellow mustard (between two)
4. with just yellow mustard as a salty snack

I do snack on party crackers at gatherings, but I have no idea what they are.

Understood. It's the balance with the topping that completes the taste profile.

They are a bit sizable...

We get them at Costco. They offer a six pack at very reasonable price and it includes the other flavors offered, such as cracked black pepper, yum.

It is a serious cracker

Thanks for the FlipSides tip! I was unaware of these crackers – neither of my two main grocery stores have them. But I found them at a Safeway yesterday, and tried them last night.

They’re pretty good, but not good enough to displace my favorite crackers.

* Don’t taste as good to me (personal preference).
* Loose in one bag in the box, rather than neatly stacked in several stay-fresh sleeves.
* Many broken crackers, even though I’m careful to get undamaged boxes.
* Bulky storage. The box is the same size as Keebler Townhouse but only 9.2 oz of crackers vs. 13.8 oz for Townhouse.

BTW – My box of FlipSides is branded as Keebler, rather than Kellogg.

ETA – Although my box of FlipSides has “Keebler” on its front, I see now that there is “Kellogg’s Family” (in small type) on its back. And, dang, I’m seeing “Kellogg’s” on my box of Townhouse crackers too. Apparently Kellogg has bought out Keebler.

When I first tried the Keebler/Kellogg FlipSides, I found them tasty, but not good enough to buy again. But going through the box, my appreciation of them increased.

I am going to buy more after all. They’re said to be cracker on one side, pretzel on the other. I just hope that my next box has fewer broken crackers.

In regards to pretzels, it occurred to me that if Dot’s Pretzels were made as crackers, they would dominate the crackers market.

I found another worthy cracker: “Cheez-It extra BIG”:

They taste the same as regular Cheez-It crackers, but they’re about 1-1/3” square. I like their larger size.

I’m surprised that Cheez-Its haven’t previously been mentioned in this thread. They’re definitely tasty little devils, even with no topping.

I also tried “Cheez-It Grooves”. About the same size as “Cheez-It extra BIG”, but I didn’t like their flavor as well.

IMO Cheez-Its are the top of the heap. Cheese Nips have a cuter name but are clearly inferior.

I won't let the wife buy Cheez-Its, I don't need to sit down and eat a half a box. Of course they're small so it's easy to get in too deep after it's too late.

I will buy a small bag in the check-out line sometimes, the most restraint I can muster.
