I don’t particularly like them, and for the last two months they’ve displaced the excellent Driscoll’s blueberries that I love in my two main grocery stores. Serious about crackers.

I was excited to score a bag of Rainier cherries the other day. They last in the store for most of a day before they are gone until next year. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

^^^^^ AI Overview “Rainier cherries are a premium, golden-yellow sweet cherry with a pink-to-red blush. Developed at Washington State University in 1952 by crossing Bing and Van varieties, they are prized for their exceptionally high sugar content (17% to 28%), creamy flesh, and delicate, honey-sweet flavor.” Re: “prized for their exceptionally high sugar content” Not for me, then. I don’t have a sweet tooth. Part of the reason I’m not fond of strawberries. Serious about crackers.

Yup, others in my family love those cherries, and scoff at others I bring home. I was appalled at the blueberry prices recently, bought a plant, and a chipmunk has been making short work of it We are all fans of strawberries, though. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

I love the strawberries and I don't remember them going out of season any time during the year. Seems they are always in the grocery store.

I eat several strawberries with my oatmeal each morning. I buy them year round, along with the blueberries I have with my oatmeal as well.

Eastern PA had a cold snap/frost that took out a lot of the orchards and pick your own farms. I hope the peaches and apples survived. "No matter where you go - there you are"

We've still got frozen blueberries that we picked last summer. I eat a few every morning with my yoghurt. They're excellent. The strawberries in our front yard are just starting to turn red. I'm excited about it, because they're excellent...way better than anything you can get in the store. I'll have fresh ones for the next month, plus some to freeze. And about the time they're done, we'll start getting red raspberries. And about the time those are done we'll be picking more blueberries. As a type 1 diabetic I don't get to eat much sweet stuff, but all of those have enough fiber content that I can get away with a few for breakfast, and it's definitely a good highlight of the day. The growing seasons are nice for a little variety. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

^^^^ AI Overview “Yes, diabetics can absolutely eat blueberries. In fact, the American Diabetes Association classifies them as a diabetes "superfood" because they are packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.” I’m not diabetic, but I don’t have a sweet tooth, and one reason that I love blueberries is that they aren’t exclusively sweet, but have delicious flavor. Serious about crackers.

That AI response is a bit oversimplified. There's still enough sugar in them to spike my glucose levels if I eat too many, but in moderation (a very small handful, maybe 10-12) and combined with a morning run, their benefits are worth the carbs. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

As a Type II, I pay close attention when I ear any fruit. Rainier cherries and blueberries are acceptable in moderation but strawberries bump my glucose more then I'm willing to accept. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

I love strawberries but can take or leave blueberries, out of the berries (other include raspberries and blackberries), my least favorite.
