I got tired of getting 18650's that clearly didn't perform or last as well as they should, gotta be knockoffs.

So I hear that Battery Junction sells genuine stuff at a premium off course. I also was under the impression their reputation was sketchy at best.

This is the worst business I've ever dealt with. Endless delays with no communication, available listings for discontinued product (as I find out much, much later), snarky chat attitudes, a total disrespect for the customer.

Please help, where to get genuine batteries?

Have not tried but considering surefire.

I get most of my rechargeable flashlight batteries like 18650s, 16650s, and 16340s through either Fenix or Illumn.

While Illumn is a small but reputable battery retailer who sells a bunch of different high quality smaller brands: https://illumn.com/batteries.html

I do have some Streamlight and Surefire rechargeable batteries, but these big name tactical flashlight brands' batteries generally cost a lot more for what is often worse specs than the smaller but well regarded battery brands like Fenix, Molicel, Sanyo/Panasonic, Vapcell, or Keepower.

If you really want to get into the weeds on battery quality and specs, the flashlight ultranerd sites like candlepowerforums.com or r/flashlight have a lot of deep dives and lively debates on battery brands and construction.

Good to know - I'll try illumn. I have single Vapcell that seems to be working well (got it w/ a flashlight that was gifted to me). I'd like Sanyo/Pana if I can get them in button top.
