Bulb selection’s simple: Kelvin is the color light you want, lumens are how bright, wattage defines what power is used to generate those lumens for a particular bulb. Same decisions you had when CFLs were the latest & greatest. As long as you don’t buy crappy Chinese bulbs, LEDs should last a long time IF you keep them cool. Self heating can kill them when placed in fixtures that don’t allow sufficient air movement. Recessed or sealed fixtures with no way to get rid of heat are the worst.
