My dog eats her own shit. Then spits it out because it tastes so awful. Then sniffs it and goes in for another bite.

We eat in the living room. When we are eating our dog brings mouthfuls of food into the LR and eats also. He will also howl when he wants a treat.

My previous dog (parts chow, husky, and black Lab) would stand and howl when the siren at the firehouse would sound. "Aaah-ooooooooooooooo!" He seemed to not care a bit about cold or snow. I couldn't keep him in the house for more than a few minutes, even on the coldest crappiest days. I went looking for him one night after a thick snow, heading out to put a warm pad in his house with him. He wasn't there. I looked all over the yard for him and found nothing. "Crap! He's taken off." Then I saw a lump on top of the picnic table. Yup, there he was, like Snoopy on the doghouse, fully covered in snow. God bless America.

Ha, it’s funny the traits they have. We had a female GSD, she did the same as a few other posts...main,y, she’d go grab a mouthful of food, bring into the other room so she could watch us, and eat it there. Go back and do it again. Also had one male, we had a full length mirror. He would look into the mirror at you until you felt the feeling of being watched. Once your eyes met his in the mirror, he would snap his jaws at you and I swear he’d laugh. Goofy boy.

The little guy we just got tried that. He was eating Purina dog chow. The day he came home, the wife switched him to Fromm. He hasn’t even sniffed his shuts since the switch. I would say bigeinkcmo is correct in this one. The “lol” thread

My parents had a dog that would never eat a treat in the location it was given. He'd always take it off to another room, out of sight, to eat it. I think he had trust issues. The same dog liked to sneak past you. You'd be sitting there reading or whatever, and notice the dog creeping quietly by. If he saw that he'd been seen, he'd drop the stalk and walk normally. What goes through their heads? In some cases, not much, I think. === I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I had a cat that would not eat unless I sat down and ate something along with her. She just didn't like to dine alone. Maybe your dog is the same? Bring his bowl into the living room and see if he likes to dine with you.

My heavens, where to start. And here I thought it was just my cat. Firstly, he'll most always pick a mouthful of food and plop it outside the food dish onto the shelf of his cat tree where he prefers to eat. I did a web search about this and it was alluding to, too small a dish as his whiskers may hit the sides of the bowl, and pull the food out..Baloney!! I served it onto a dish where his whiskers weren't obscured by the bowl in the least...wait for it...plop! outside the plate to consume it! As for water, he'll only drink out of my coffee cup filled with fresh water on top of my bathroom sink. Bless his heart. Regards, Will G.

I had a White West Highland Terrier once who could pull off an SBD like no guy ever! He'd quietly get up and leave the room, looking back over his shoulder the entire time. When the smell hit me, I'd usually throw a pillow at him and he'd run. I swear he was laughing at me!

A couple of weeks ago I built Miss Goofball a new house. Bigger, easier to get into (bigger opening, to suit her big ol' butt), heater, the works. Last weekend I added insulation, for Monday and Tuesday were supposed to be mighty chilly, and I needed to do that before winter anyway. Where's she hanging out? In a freshly-dug hole in the yard, next to her house. Geeze.... God bless America.

I met a very young Great Dane, her name is Agatha, She's in heat for the second time, so she is acting all kinds of batty. She is home alone, all day, five days a week, her whole world is in the house or the 35' x 24' back yard. Well she has found two ways to get out to visit the neighbors. 3 times in two days I went out and called her , man oh man can she cover ground! She comes right home and goes right in her dog door,. Great dog, just wonderful demeanor. I've never , ever seen them take her out for a walk. Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first
