I received a new Keuric 12 cup coffee maker/single serve for Christmas.
I was surprised to discover that it did not come with a coffee filter. I would have expected Keuric to give you a gold basket filter or a few paper filters to get you going.
I was upset about it and wanted to return it but thought I would check around to find out if this is normal for other brands as well.

What is your experience with coffee makers?

I've got the duo, makes single k-cups or a 12 cup pot.
It didn't come with filters either.

I make a pot rarely enough that a pkg of filters lasts a long time

The K we have is fitted with a filter gizmo in the supply tank. It is replaceable. It is a column of plastic and at its base is the filter.

Please keep in mind that the K-cup is the filter to allow water to pass through the ground coffee and into the cup.

We use filtered water as the source of coffee water, anyway.

Pretty sure he's talking about the coffee basket filter for coffee grounds.

That was my assumption as well

The main coffee basket is what I was talking about.
