Everyone and their brother is in on it. Organizations, businesses, sports teams, media outlets.. countless places. TV, radio and print adds telling people to vote.

NO!

If you need to be told to vote, you shouldn't be voting.

People shouldn't be voting for someone simple because they recognize the name from a sign they saw on the side of the road.

I was going to agree, but then I had to admit that I’d prefer that like-minded individuals, for example on the issue of gun rights infringements, vote even if they’re so stupid that they require reminding.

On the other hand, “I don’t care who you vote for, just vote,” is nothing more than a way of signaling how virtuous and civic-minded one is. Fact is, if you’re voting for the wrong person or thing, and especially if it’s only because you’re motivated by the “Just vote!” encouragement, then I hope you stay home watching the teevee.

Whenever I hear the “everyone’s opinion is equally valid” platitude, I’m reminded of an observation by Frank Salter in the magazine Skeptic:
“[A]ll sides to a scientific debate over theory cannot be equal, unless they are all wrong.”

That's the key difference between science and economics, because no economist is ever wrong. Wink

Well, they are worried that if nobody is interested in going to a Biden "rally" then why would they waste part of their day to go vote for him.
You are right, if you have to be told...

Lots of people have no idea what is at stake.

I know some people who tell me that God will take care of all that.
I tell them, God takes care of those who take care of themselves. Does he give you a pay check?

No, he may give you the smarts to learn a career or the ability to do lots of skills. But you have to hone those skills and put them to work and seek out employment and be a good employee to keep your job.
You have to put the effort in.

They're playing the odds. There are more democrats than Republicans. So the more people they can get to vote, the more the election will lean democrat.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I'm just praying that this same fervent call to vote is happening in swing states and in favor of President Trump.

They care only if you vote the correct way. Make no mistake, the push is to influence the outcome through increasing turnout they believe is favorable to their side.

Is to some extent a way to stuff the ballot box, by whatever means, with the excuse urging of more people to vote.

I think we need an IQ test in order to vote. Some of the idiots who are voting have no idea who stands where or on what.

Civil rights movement put that idea to rest.

Along the same lines, if you're too stupid or lazy to figure out how to get yourself a valid government-issued photo ID and register, then you shouldn't be voting.

Fucking TINDER is telling me to vote. There is a checklist to register, and then vote, and a list of polling places in my district, and maps to get there.

I hope you appreciate the irony. My polling place didn't have any hookup-worthy chicks. Well, not for someone less than 70.

Even my employer is telling me to vote, and they have partnered with "Turbo Vote" or whatever that is. I registered 20 years ago and haven't moved so I don't need to re-register.

Almost everyone that is "getting out the vote" is a commie wanting you to vote for commies. Conservatives don't need this shit.
