I don't get it. You go to costco - anybody familiar would know to get a cart. If you're going to costco, more than likely you'll need a cart.

Why would someone steal my cart inside costco. Not an empty cart but with stuff I want to buy in the cart. They took out my stuff, put it on other stuff in the aisle then took my cart. It's not like there is a fee for carts - just go outside and get on.

Fucking CA people. I just don't understand.

Holy crap! You are not alone as I had this happen once at my local grocery store. I had my cart with several produce items already in it, which is the first section when you enter the store, along with my shopping list. I try to be polite by not blocking the isle by parking my cart out of the way, grabbing items close by, and then returning to my cart. Once, I found my cart not where I left it. I searched all over and was pissed because it had my shopping list. I finally looked into a bin next to where I parked my cart to find all of my items and shopping list dumped into the bin. Some asshat unloaded my cart into the bin to have a cart instead of getting one from outside like I did. I seriously don’t understand people sometimes.

Maybe this was a newly TX person from CA…LOL

I’m kinda big on parking my cart out of the way while shopping. That also means I don’t stand in the middle of the isle while perusing a shelf. If it’s only one small item, I’ll park the cart out of the way, outside the isle, then walk in to pick up whatever.

Things can vary some, depending on how busy the store is. About 1/2 the time I push a cart in from the outside rack to use, not worried about Covid germs.

Of course I always return my cart to the rack, even if it’s raining. That’s not hard, since I park with that in mind beforehand.

I very much suspect that were I subjected to such a situation, Law Enforcement would be involved before it was over, probably to my detriment.

How long did you leave it unattended? Because someone could have thought it was an abandoned cart.

"Yo, homie. Is that my cart?"

When I was a child, my mother almost got into a fight with someone because they kept hitting me with their cart while we were all waiting in line to be checked out; however, I don't think I've ever had a cart stolen from me.

Having spent one week every single year for 12 years in CA, and running into them every time I go to the Islands, are you surprised? CA entitlement is way different than regular entitlement. Way different category. It’s in the water or something.

I have had someone do this at Costco, but not to the point of removing my food items. They were just completely oblivious, grabbed and started pushing my cart, until I raised my voice and told them to stop, even to the point of stopping them pushing it with my hands. “This is my cart with my food, what are you doing?” Most of the time they apologize but people are stupid.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I feel like OP is leaving out some crucial information here. If he parked his cart and walked away from it long enough that someone was able to encounter it and remove everything in it without OP being able to see it all transpiring, I’d say it’s a wash.

Always carry a wooden shim, stick it in the left rear wheel when briefly parking your cart.

If the cart was empty, I'd agree. If there was ANYTHING in the cart, even if just a shopping list, then there are NO circumstances under which this was okay.

I NEVER leave my cart, as I have a difficult time walking without support.

What gets me is folks leaving their carts in the middle of the aisle and they are 10 to 12 feet away from it. Take the bloody thing with you and don’t make me walk around it or push it out of the way. And that goes for the stock clerk loading up the shelves too.

Okay, if we're going to bitch about supermarket aisles, here's mine:

Those FUCKING cardboard displays that take up half the aisle and are invariably right in front of the item on the shelf I'm looking for.

One of these days, I'm going to lose my shit and drop-kick one of those fuckers into next week.

You must've missed the news video last month of the couple that stole one of those Costco pallet carts after someone took their hands off it for a few seconds. To the point they assaulted them for it. Costco is a PVP zone.

My favorite is having a cart left in a parking slot, and all the better if it blocks two at the same time.
