I've had consistently good experience with USPS Priority Mail over many years.

Sorry about your disappointments.

Yeah I will never use a Priority Mail envelope again.

Last one I did was also for firearm purchase. Going from Eastern NY to just inside PA. 3+ hour drive if I'd delivered it myself. First it went Michigan? Maybe Wisconsin? I don't remember which. Then it came all the way back to eastern PA. Took a week.

USPS generally does an OK job but could definitely improve on delivery times. I sent a package from my home in PA to another location in PA which was only about a to hour drive and it took over two weeks to be delivered. I could have walked it there faster.

The good news is at least your money order isn't lost :-)

I stopped using the envelopes maybe two years ago. Everything now goes in the small priority box. The drawback to the box, if you’re going to a company, is it will most likely end up on the receiving dock. Even so, I’ve only had one long varied stops delivery since I switched.

The last few small packages I've had shipped to me normally gets hit with a delay for several days before picking back up in the system. It's why now I'll pay the extra for either FedEx or UPS even if it costs more.

This time of year mail often ends up in a black hole. A few of mine are hanging near Milwaukee now.

I order Priority mail LIVE crickets from Louisiana for my lizards. What used to be a 4-day trip, Louisiana to Arizona has now been 2-WEEKS! Yes, most of the crickets are DOA.

We send regular mail packages to family in So-cal and they get there in 2-days.

And even better, we get the neighbors mail, I take it to their mailbox and in their box is their neighbors mail...domino affect.

And even better, a package was said to be delivered to our mailbox. Never got it. Went to Post Office and they said "picture" of package and MY mailbox was in the system showing it as delivered. I asked to see picture and they refused. AND, how do they know it is my mailbox when there are no address numbers on the front of my mailbox for them to take a picture of?

I dont think it will get better...

If my wife could find a way to block access to the USPS tracking URL at our router, she would. Just to preserve my health.

From the range and volume of my profanity, she can now tell when inbound Priority Mail items are going round & round in the "Our local PO : PHL Regional Distrbution" vortex, two miles and 30 respectively.

Every. Time.

Adjusted for inflation a First Class mailing costs more than twice what it cost in 1925. Local delivery times have also more than doubled in the same period, despite modernization. I am just a poor corrupt official, but I'm pretty sure this isn't how it's supposed to work.
