So I always use non ethanol fuel in my lawn equipment. I finally found a local station who carries it. I go there with my can, all the lines are full. I pull behind a car which hasn't moved in like 5 minutes, I figure they're fueling and sitting inside the car. Wrong, they're inside buying a cremated hot dog or buying cigarettes, or a lottery ticket. I circle around and see a broad sitting in her car yakking on her phone. She's in the last lane.I pull next to her and honk my horn. No response. Do it again, no response. Finally she rolls down her window. I ask her if she's done. She says she's getting gas. I tell her that the hose isn't in her car. She then states the obvious saying that she's on the phone. So.... she hadn't got gas yet, she was just taking up the pump space while yakking on her phone. Hopefully it was to Weight Watchers. A lane finally opens up and I get the gas. I wouldn't have even cared but the place was packed. Really annoying.
I see this all the time at gas stations that are combined with convenience stores.
One of the reasons I really like Costco for gas. In addition to the low prices for top tier gas, there's no convenience store, no reason for people to do anything other than gas up and move along, and there's always at least one attendant at the pumps to keep things moving.

It really drives me nuts when a truck driver will do this. Get his fuel and then go shopping for 15 minutes while he blocks 1 of 2 pumps. I’d have thought that a professional driver would have more courtesy especially when other trucks are waiting. Ya can’t fix stupid legally.
Very inconsiderate. Similar thing happened at tractor supply to me today except it was a dipshit finger banging his phone for 20 minutes after getting propane. Their gate to get propane refills and pick-up large items is 2 vehicles wide and the self-absorbed ass had parked dead center. Employee finally ran him off as he didn't want to hand carry my heavy order around his micropenis compensation vehicle.

I'd wager a large amount you'll go decades without seeing a gas station employee scold a customer who blocks a pump while in the c-store. The reason is that a gas station makes a penny or two a gallon on gasoline and at the end of the month hopes the gasoline sales pay the electric bill. However, the mark-up on Twinkies, bottled water, Soda, candy bars, etc. is insane and they'll keep that customer happy as it's how they earn a living.

I've seen truckers finish fueling and go inside to take a shower. I've also seen a few occasions where someone pulled the lever on his kingpin and the clean driver tried to pull away without his trailer.
I hate it when a big double cab pickup with long lawn care trailer blocks a whole line of pumps. Do they at least do the furthest out pumps? Of course not. It is pouring rain and I’m forced to walk around their rig outside the canopy because you can’t walk through the center.
Fucking people and their got damn phone addictions. Drives me nuts. Costco is much the same. They have Tier 1 gas and I’m a damn gearhead so that’s the best place to get gas around here. No ethanol free close to me. Every time I go to Costco to get gas you see immigrants, and natives both, well you’d swear this is the first got damn time in their life they have used a gas pump. When finally get a slot, IDGAF if I have to pull the hose across the bed of my truck and hold it above my tonneau. I don’t have to be in the lane where the hose will be on the side of my neck filler. I choose the shortest line. As I egress, fuel door is open, my card is out to touch the pump to get her going. Immediately inserted into filler, put the lock on. As soon as it clicks I’m not trying to squeeze more fuel in, because dumbasses, you aren’t supposed to do that! Your manu, whichever one it is, even tells you if your dumbass could RTFM, not to do that. Instead these clowns will keep pulling on the lever, to squeeze a few more drops. Take their time. Even when they are back inside their vehicle, the last thing they are, is in a hurry. Could be 10 cars behind them they don’t care. Myself, I immediately ingress, start, put it into D, and try to be extremely efficient and quick, because people are waiting. Fuck I hate people. Your got damn phone call is not important. You are not a brain surgeon giving instructions to a nurse in the OP to set up surgery. Get off the fucking phone when people are waiting. You got damn bitches.
My rural land has ethanol free but it’s 30 minutes away. Same for 93 octane. I see (10) VP 5 gals in my future to get 50 gallons to store in the garage. I’m hoping I can learn about underground fuel storage as well.
What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Actually witnessed this...Interstate fuel station with gas for cars and trucks plus multible diesel pumps (pilot truck stop) for 18 wheelers on opposite side of building...Subway Sandwich location inside of building.. Employee came in asking for the name of driver of a specific truck that was blocking the exit of a fuel lane... This truck had pulled forward enough to let the next truck fuel up but not pull out .. Driver in the Subway line and was refusing to go move his truck till he got his sandwich.. When the employees told him to move truck right now that the would call the cops and a wrecker and he replied go ahead make those calls by saying I Aint leaving till I get my sandwich.. Guess what???.. With the manager on one phone with the police and another employee on another phone with the wrecker company the driver deceided to go move his truck but as he was walking out he was ranting like a crazy man about having to move his F-n truck... Some people... ................................................... drill sgt.

I hate this too. Stay in front of a pump just long enough to pump your gas. Then find another stop if you need to stay at the location longer. The inconsideration of some people is unbounded.
I also hate when people stop for gas and park too far away from the pump. There is often a middle "lane" between lines of stacked pumps for people to drive through. Some people park to infringe upon that middle zone so that no one can exit in either direction until the idiot finishes pumping and leaves. I'd hate to see how they parallel park - probably 5 feet from the curb.

This has been my experience also. But you're not going to get much help from the owners because they are making most of their money from the purchases inside the store.
They want customers in and out quickly so others can come in and buy stuff, but accommodating gas only customers isn't anywhere near the top of their priorities

I try to hit Costco gas stations even when I'm traveling out of town...just to avoid the stop-n-robs.
Besides their gas quality and low prices, they have an attendant who walks around and gets cars to move when they're done filling. They are usually pretty good at motioning cars forward, around cars that are still filling, when a forward pump becomes available.
When I'm in SoCal, there's a Costco that I go to that has staff directing cars into lanes for efficiency

My former gas station put in new pumps. While I was holding the nozzle for a fill, a video screen had a LOUD blaring speaker. Yeah, my FORMER gas station.

Locally today at the local Sams Club a female driver pulled off away from the gas pump forgetting to remove the nozzel from the car filler pipe on her vehicle....Yup...You guessed it... Luckily the quick disconnect in the hose line made a clean break-away.... lost sight of her ... do not know how far she dragged the hose behind her.. Attendent came out and placed the orange cones in front of the pump .. As seen and reported to me by member Charlie 12 .............. drill sgt.

I've been to a station that had a video screen with Fox News on it while you pumped . And yes , at maximum volume .

Sort of parallel and equally annoying- went to a “convenience “ store to pick up some smokeless tobacco yesterday. They have like 4 employees behind the counter, but not a single regular cash register open. You have to use the automated line even though there is an employee standing right behind it. So I ask for my product, then go to hand the employee exact change for the purchase - he tells me no, you have to insert the money into the automated console in front of the counter. So I insert my exact change payment into the console and it doesn’t recognize some of my change, showing I am 62 cents short. So I have to feed another dollar in to finish. My mangy buck wouldn’t feed into the machine on multiple attempts, so finally the same counter monkey comes from behind the counter to help feed the Money in. Lots of these places around here often have 2,3 or even 4 employees behind the counter but only one cash register open WTF
