My father had a raccoon for a pet when he married mother.

It had only two bad habits.

1. Lying in wait in a cupboard, hoping my paternal grandmother opened it. She'd shriek and the raccoon did that raccoon chuckle.

2. It took to trying to help with the laundry. It did so by dumping half a box of detergent into the old style open-top washing machine. While it was running. Suds everywhere.
